Stevie Nicks, the legendary Fleetwood Mac singer, is reportedly going to play a big role in Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s upcoming wedding celebration. Sources say the 78-year-old rock icon will not only attend the event but also perform during the festivities. The wedding is expected to take place at New York’s Madison Square Garden over the Fourth of July weekend, with a smaller gathering on July 2 and a larger party for around 1,000 guests on July 3. Taylor Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in August 2025.
A Friendship Spanning More Than a Decade
Taylor Swift and Stevie Nicks have shared a close bond since they first performed together at the 2010 Grammy Awards. The two singers have stayed connected over the years, with Nicks even writing a poem for the physical edition of Swift’s 2024 album The Tortured Poets Department. Swift has often spoken about how much she values Nicks’ guidance and friendship.
“I have Stevie Nicks in my life in a way that affects me positively constantly. Being able to talk to her and have a phone call with her and hear what she’s been through โฆ I feel very lucky that she’s lended her very magical, wonderful, wise approach to life to me.” – Taylor Swift
Nicks has also shown strong support for Swift’s relationship with Travis Kelce. In a 2024 interview with Rolling Stone, she shared her hopes for the couple.
“She’s in a good place right now, and I think she has a good man. I hope they fall deeper and deeper in love and ride off into the sunset.” – Stevie Nicks
The friendship runs deep. Nicks became emotional at Swift’s concert after hearing “You’re On Your Own, Kid,” a song that helped her cope with the loss of her Fleetwood Mac bandmate Christine McVie. Swift also dedicated the live debut of “Clara Bow” to Nicks during her Eras Tour.
Fans Spot a Hidden Clue at the NBA Finals
Taylor Swift dropped a major hint about Nicks’ involvement at the wedding during Game 4 of the NBA Finals on June 10, 2026. She wore a custom shirt that read “Stevie Knicks” while sitting courtside at Madison Square Garden. Fans quickly saw it as another one of Swift’s famous Easter eggs. The wordplay combined Nicks’ name with the New York Knicks, the team playing at the venue where the wedding is reportedly taking place. Swift, known for leaving hidden messages for her fans, has used this kind of clue before to tease big announcements.
More Musical Legends and a Star-Studded Guest List
Nicks is not the only big name expected to perform. According to Page Six, country music star Tim McGraw will also take the stage at the wedding. McGraw holds special meaning for Swift. Her very first hit single, released in 2006 when she was 16, was titled “Tim McGraw”. The song helped launch her career and became a Billboard hit. Swift later opened for McGraw and his wife Faith Hill on tour in 2007. The two have remained connected over the years, even performing together in Nashville during Swift’s Reputation Stadium Tour in 2018.
Other names reportedly being discussed as potential performers include Paul McCartney, who once performed with Swift at the SNL 40th anniversary afterparty. Sources say the wedding will be bigger than the Met Gala, with one insider calling it “Wedding-palooza”.
“I’ve heard Taylor invited so many people it’s going to be bigger than the Met Gala.” – A source
The guest list includes many of Swift’s closest friends and collaborators. People expected to attend include Abigail Anderson (Swift’s high school best friend who will reportedly be her maid of honor), the HAIM sisters, Zoe Kravitz, Ed Sheeran, Jack Antonoff and his wife Margaret Qualley, Mariska Hargitay, Cara Delevingne, Suki Waterhouse, Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper, and Selena Gomez with Benny Blanco. Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammates like Patrick Mahomes and coach Andy Reid are also expected to be there.

Madison Square Garden and Secret Wedding Plans
The wedding celebrations are planned for July 2 and July 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. City Hall confirmed a permit has been filed to close streets around the arena for those dates. The first day will feature a smaller gathering of about 100 guests, followed by the main event with roughly 1,000 attendees on July 3. The couple is reportedly paying around $3 million for a three-day rental of the venue.
Some insiders believe the couple may have already secretly gotten married before the Madison Square Garden party. Sources say the big event at the arena might just be a celebration of a marriage that has already happened. Security at the City Clerk’s Office said there had been no sign of a marriage license from Swift recently. However, a New York State marriage license is valid for 60 days, and couples can get a judicial waiver to bypass the usual 24-hour waiting period.
