Kripke explained the timeline connection between the shows. “It’s all more like cars on a train than it is a plate of spaghetti,” he told Variety. Gen V takes place after The Boys Season 3, and The Boys Season 4 occurs after that .
Trailer Reveals Major Plot Points
The final trailer dropped in March 2026, one month before the premiere . The footage shows Homelander searching for “Vought’s first iteration of compound-V.” He wants this original formula to make himself immortal .
The trailer also reveals Homelander defrosting Soldier Boy from his frozen prison. The two powerful Supes may team up against The Boys . Scenes show internment camps, SWAT team shootouts, and Homelander punching an unseen figure. Fans believe this could be his son, Ryan, who grows increasingly powerful .
