THE BOYZ member Eric has officially joined a new agency for his solo activities. GRID Entertainment announced on August 10, 2026 that they have signed an exclusive contract with the K-pop idol. Along with the announcement, the agency also released fresh profile photos of Eric, giving fans a first look at his new chapter.
The news comes after THE BOYZ members recently settled their group activities under a new label structure. Eric is the latest member to secure individual representation while continuing promotions with the group.
Eric Joins GRID Entertainment For Solo Activities
GRID Entertainment confirmed the signing on August 10. The agency shared their excitement about working with Eric and promised to support his growth as an artist.
“We plan to provide full support so that the artist can showcase his abilities in various fields including music.”
The agency also expressed their confidence in Eric’s potential.
“We are very pleased to be working with Eric, an artist with outstanding skills and limitless potential. We will spare no effort in providing full support so that he can freely showcase his abilities and grow on even bigger stages.”
GRID Entertainment currently manages the group POW and ALPHA DRIVE ONE members Sangwon and Leo. Eric now joins this roster of artists.
Eric Shares His Thoughts On The New Contract
Eric also spoke about his decision to join GRID Entertainment. He explained that the agency’s musical direction matched his own vision for his career.
“Based on the experiences and lessons I gained through my activities with THE BOYZ, I will show you many new sides of myself and my potential moving forward. I connected with the musical direction and production vision that GRID Entertainment and its CEO have envisioned, and I felt that they aligned well with the image I want to present in the future. I am confident that we can create great synergy based on trust and respect.”
He also asked fans to look forward to his upcoming projects under the new agency.
Eric’s Journey With THE BOYZ
Eric debuted as the youngest member of THE BOYZ under Cre.Ker Entertainment in December 2017 with the song “Boy”. The group became well-known for tracks like “No Air” (2018), “Reveal” (2020), and “Thrill Ride” (2021).
Since his debut, Eric has shown growth in multiple areas. He has participated in rap making and lyric writing for many of the group’s songs. He has also worked as a radio DJ, hosting “Idol Radio Season 4” starting in January of last year. His work as a host earned him the Rookie Award in the Radio category at the 2025 MBC Entertainment Awards.
THE BOYZ Group Activities Continue With Nine Members
Eric’s new solo contract does not affect his participation in THE BOYZ. The group will continue activities as a nine-member act under a newly established label.
Nine members of THE BOYZ—Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Sunwoo, and Eric—have signed group activity contracts. Member New is not part of this arrangement.
The group had been in a dispute with their former agency, One Hundred Label, over settlement payments. The members filed to suspend their contracts in February, and the Seoul Central District Court granted their request in April. The members have now resolved their group activities and are preparing for promotions under a new label system.
Each member will handle individual activities through separate contracts with different agencies. This allows them to focus on their personal strengths while keeping the group together.
