About the Series
The Ogre’s Bride is set in a Japan where humans and ayakashi (supernatural beings) coexist. The story follows Yuzu Shinonome, an ordinary high school girl who has been ignored by her family her whole life. Her sister Karin married a powerful fox spirit, bringing the family status and prosperity, while Yuzu was constantly told she didn’t measure up.
Everything changes when Reiya Kiryuin, heir to a prestigious oni (ogre) clan, appears and claims Yuzu as his bride. The series explores Yuzu’s journey as she receives absolute love from the ayakashi in exchange for bringing prosperity.
The anime adapts Kureha’s light novel series, which began in 2020 and has nine volumes so far. A manga adaptation by Jun Togashi began in 2022.
