The Traitors 2 winner Krystle D’Souza has finally spoken about the cheating controversy surrounding fellow contestant Parul Gulati. The actress revealed how she felt “ostracised” and “bullied” during the show after Parul repeatedly accused her of being a traitor without giving proper reasons. The controversy erupted when Shahneel Gill alleged that Parul paid a production crew member to leak the identities of the traitors.
The second season of the Karan Johar-hosted reality show, which streams on Amazon Prime Video, has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons. While the show is meant to be a game of deception and strategy, the cheating allegations have cast a shadow over the competition. Krystle, who won the show alongside Rida Tharana, has now shared her side of the story in an exclusive interview.
How the Cheating Allegations Started
The controversy began when Shahneel Gill, who is cricketer Shubman Gill’s sister, posted a video on Instagram claiming there had been “match-fixing” on The Traitors. She explained that every contestant is assigned a “shadow” – a production crew member who takes care of their daily needs during the game. Shahneel alleged that one contestant’s shadow was being paid to leak information about who the traitors were.
Shahneel questioned how Parul could wake up every morning with a “gut feeling” about who the traitors were, and that feeling turned out to be correct every single time. She said, “We genuinely thought that we were witnessing some crazy sixth-sense intuition. Turns out the gut had a source”. Shahneel also pointed out that the traitors seemed to be the only ones playing a fair game, which made the situation unfair for innocent contestants who were honestly trying to figure out the traitors’ identities.
Krystle D’Souza’s Reaction to the Allegations
Krystle D’Souza, who was also a traitor on the show, addressed the controversy in a video and said she was shocked and furious after learning about the alleged information leak. She questioned how Parul could repeatedly identify traitors without providing convincing reasons for her accusations.
“It is so unfair on the rest of the 20 contestants, the innocents who want to use their brains to play the game and catch the traitors, and the traitors who are trying to survive and play their game. To find out that a shadow and a contestant were discussing who the traitor is, I just cannot understand it.”
Krystle also recalled a specific incident where Parul had already accused her of being a traitor before she had even reached the breakfast table. When Krystle asked Parul for specific reasons behind the accusation, she felt the explanations given later did not make sense. Referring to Parul’s observation that she had not cried for fellow contestant Munawar Faruqui, Krystle questioned, “But when did crying or not crying become a point for being a traitor?”
Krystle Felt Bullied and Ostracised
In an exclusive interview with India Today, Krystle opened up about how difficult that day was for her. She revealed that what viewers saw on the show was only a small part of what actually happened. Behind the edited episode was an exhausting day of feeling cornered by almost the entire house.
“I just felt like it was a little unfair to the rest of the people who were actually putting in effort. You can’t come in and say, ‘I will show you who you are.’ It’s like, we know you have a cheat code, but don’t go all crazy. I felt tortured and bullied the whole day. That whole day, I felt so ostracised, at one point, I wanted to leave. I was like, forget this game, let’s leave, because the way I was being attacked felt very personal.”
Krystle described that day as her lowest point on the show. She said she did not have a single person she could sit and talk to normally throughout the day. The actress mentioned that she was ready to leave the game because she was mentally done. Interestingly, Krystle also said that her highest point was when Parul got eliminated on the same day.
Parul Gulati’s Response to the Cheating Claims
Parul Gulati has denied all allegations and called the controversy a “digital witch-hunt”. After the videos from Krystle and Shahneel went viral, Parul posted on Instagram saying, “This is a circle of shaq all over and guess what, I am INNOCENT, AGAIN!”. She did not directly name either Krystle or Shahneel in her response.
Parul had earlier become one of the most talked-about contestants on The Traitors 2 after correctly identifying Harman Singha as a traitor. She was so confident about her suspicions that she even said she would shut down her business if she turned out to be wrong. Parul later accused Krystle of being a traitor, which is what led to the current controversy.
Other Contestants Back the Allegations
Krystle, Rida Tharana, and social media influencer Prish later backed Shahneel’s allegations. Rida Tharana, who won the show alongside Krystle, also addressed the controversy and spoke about her experience on the show. The allegations have sparked a lot of debate among viewers, with many questioning whether Parul’s impressive reads were the result of sharp observation or something else.

The Makers Have Not Commented
The makers of The Traitors 2 have not issued any official statement on the matter. Krystle believes the show itself is not at fault and that the alleged cheating was a personal choice. She said, “I would love to play again, with full integrity, as a traitor or as an innocent, and that’s how a game should be played. Even if it’s Monopoly that you’re playing at home, don’t cheat. It’s not fun.”
