T.O.P and Nana have officially confirmed they are in a relationship. The former BIGBANG member and the After School-turned-actor began dating around June 2026 after meeting on the set of his “Studio54” music video earlier this year. Both agencies acknowledged the relationship on October 2, 2026, within an hour of Dispatch publishing photos of the couple on private dates near Nana’s home in Guri, South Korea.
T.O.P and Nana Confirm They Are Dating
T.O.P (Choi Seung-hyun, 38) and Nana (Im Jin-ah, 35) are officially a couple. T.O.P’s agency, Topspot Pictures, released a statement on Friday confirming the relationship. “The two first met through the filming of his music video,” the agency said. “They later grew closer and developed a romantic relationship around June“.
Nana’s agency, Sublime, also confirmed the news in a separate statement. “They formed a connection while filming T.O.P’s music video, and they are currently happily dating,” the agency said.
The confirmation came less than an hour after Dispatch reported the relationship and shared photos of the pair spending time together. The speed of the response marked a rare moment where both agencies acknowledged a celebrity relationship almost immediately.

How They Met on the Studio54 Music Video Set
The couple’s story began in January 2026 when T.O.P personally reached out to Nana to star in the music video for “Studio54.” The song is one of two title tracks from his first solo studio album, “Another Dimension” (Korean title: 다중관점), which was released on April 3, 2026.
T.O.P explained his decision to cast Nana in an April video on his YouTube channel. “Ever since I first created ‘Studio54,’ I wanted an enigmatic, mysterious woman whose era was impossible to tell,” he said. “I needed a charm where you couldn’t tell whether she came from outer space or from the past. She needed classic beauty, but I also thought it would be incredibly captivating if a woman who looked truly, completely crazy—just like the song’s title—appeared. In my eyes, she was the best fit”.
During the initial shoot, the two kept things professional. Reports say there was no romance when they first met in January. They reunited in April for promotional content and maintained a formal relationship at that time as well. Things changed as they started speaking more often. By around June, their friendship turned into a romantic relationship.
Dispatch Photos and Low-Key Dates
Dispatch published photos and details of the couple’s private time together on October 2. The outlet reported that T.O.P and Nana have been meeting around Achiul Village in Guri, close to Nana’s residence.
Their dates have been simple and low-key. The two were seen taking taxis, stopping at convenience stores, and walking together. T.O.P wore a hat, while Nana wore a mask to keep a low profile. Dispatch spotted them together on September 30 and October 1, with T.O.P traveling to Achiul Village to meet her.
The timing was notable. Nana attended Milan Fashion Week on September 24 for the Ferragamo Spring/Summer 2027 show. The two spent time together right up until her flight to Italy.
A source close to the pair told Dispatch that their shared experiences in the entertainment industry brought them together. “They’ve walked similar paths, from debut, activities, rumors, and being hurt. They understand each other deeply. They’re working hard at both their love and their careers”.

Nana Speaks to Fans on Bubble
After the news broke, Nana addressed fans directly on the fan communication platform Bubble. She acknowledged that the sudden news may have surprised many people.
“You must have been really surprised. I’m a bit shy, too. We will date nicely and healthily!”
Her message was honest and confident. Nana has been active as both a singer and actor for over 15 years, and this marks her first public relationship since debut. The response from fans has been mixed. Many sent congratulations, while some criticized the relationship due to T.O.P’s past marijuana controversy.
T.O.P’s Career Comeback
T.O.P debuted with BIGBANG in 2006 and became one of the most recognizable faces in K-pop. His career faced a major setback in 2017 after a marijuana-related case during his military service. He suspended activities and later left YG Entertainment. He officially parted ways with BIGBANG in 2023.
His return to the spotlight came in December 2024 with a role in Netflix’s “Squid Game” Season 2. He played Thanos (Player 230), a washed-up rapper who lost everything to a cryptocurrency scam and resorted to drugs. The role mirrored his own real-life struggles and marked a turning point in his career.
In April 2026, he released his first full-length solo album, “Another Dimension,” featuring 11 tracks including the double title tracks “Studio54” and “Desperado.” The album performed well globally, earning about 1.47 million streams on Spotify on release day, the highest first-day tally that year for a K-pop solo artist. It also hit No. 1 on the iTunes album chart in 15 countries.
T.O.P is currently on his first solo Asia tour, “T.O.P PRE-STUDIO 2026.” The tour includes stops in Hong Kong (August 15), Taipei (August 22), Jakarta (September 19), Kuala Lumpur (September 27), Tokyo (November 16), and Kaohsiung (December 19).
Nana’s Acting Career and The Scandal
Nana debuted in 2009 with the girl group After School and later gained fame with its subunit Orange Caramel. She moved into acting in 2016 with the tvN drama “The Good Wife” and has since built a strong career in both music and acting.
Her recent projects include Netflix’s “Mask Girl” (2023) and “The Scandal,” a historical romance set during the Joseon era. “The Scandal” premiered on Netflix on September 18, 2026. The eight-episode series also stars Son Ye-jin and Ji Chang-wook and is a remake of the 2003 film “Untold Scandal”.
Nana faced some criticism over her appearance in “The Scandal.” Some viewers said her lips, which they attributed to fillers, made her unsuitable for the Joseon-era setting. She addressed the issue on a fan platform. “If my lips caused discomfort to viewers, then it was my fault. I believe my personal choice was not the right one for an actress,” she said.
What Their Agencies Said
Both agencies released brief statements confirming the relationship. T.O.P’s agency said the two first became acquainted while filming the music video and grew closer, beginning a romantic relationship around June. Nana’s agency said they formed a connection through the music video shoot and are currently in a good relationship.
The statements were nearly identical in structure, suggesting both sides coordinated the announcement. Neither agency shared additional details about the couple’s future plans.
