The drama in Atlanta is set to continue at a rapid pace. Tyler Perry’s Sistas has been officially renewed for a landmark 10th season, with a premiere date announced just after the Season 9 finale aired. Fans can expect the next chapter of friendship, love, and career challenges to begin very soon.
The tenth season has a very quick turnaround. Season 10 will premiere on Wednesday, January 7, at 9 PM ET/PT on BET. New episodes will be released weekly on Wednesdays in the show’s usual time slot. This means the new season starts less than a month after the dramatic Season 9 finale, which aired on December 17.
This early renewal and fast production schedule shows the show’s strong performance. Reports indicate Sistas is on track to be the number one scripted cable series among Black adults 18-49 for a fifth straight year. It is also the top cable series among all Black viewers for a third consecutive year.
The core group of friends and their partners are set to return. The main cast includes KJ Smith as attorney Andi Barnes, Mignon as Daniella “Danni” King, Ebony Obsidian as salon owner Karen Mott, and Novi Brown as Sabrina Hollins. The cast of characters who bring the romantic and personal entanglements to life will also return. This includes Crystal Renee’ Hayslett as Fatima, Devale Ellis as Zac, Chido Nwokocha as Gary, and Brian Jordan Jr. as Maurice.
Other series regulars expected back include Angela “Angie” Beyincé, Branden Wellington, Chris Warren, and Kevin A. Walton. Recurring actors from Season 9, like Darone Okolie, Walnette Marie Santiago, and Sullivan Jones, could also return to continue their storylines.
“I feel honored,” KJ Smith said about the show’s impact at an earlier event. “When we travel the world, people are saying our names, they’re saying our character names… I just feel incredibly honored.”
The Season 9 finale left several characters in dangerous situations, setting the stage for an intense season premiere. Andi was seen approaching her car just before it exploded. At the same time, Sabrina was rushed to the hospital after a physical altercation, leaving her friends scrambling. These dual crises will likely test the sisterhood immediately as Season 10 begins.
Fans are already discussing their hopes and theories for the new season on social media. Many are speculating on the fates of Andi and Sabrina and debating the future of various relationships. One popular fan hope is for Danni to reconnect with her former love interest, Preston. The show continues to focus on the group navigating modern dating, careers, and the complexities of their friendships in Atlanta.
New episodes of Sistas Season 10 will air on BET every Wednesday at 9 PM ET/PT starting January 7. For viewers who want to catch up or stream new episodes, the show is available on BET+, the network’s streaming service. Past seasons are also available there for viewers looking to revisit earlier storylines.

The show has also expanded into a growing universe on BET+. The successful spinoff Zatima, focusing on Fatima and Zac, recently aired its fourth season. Another spinoff, Divorced Sistas, premiered earlier this year and follows a different group of friends navigating life after marriage.
The show’s consistent high ratings and dedicated fan base have secured its place as a cornerstone of BET’s programming. With production already underway for the quick January premiere, viewers won’t have to wait long to see how the shocking events of the finale unfold and what new challenges await Andi, Sabrina, Danni, Karen, and their circle.
