The popular song Vaaroon from the first season of Mirzapur is returning in a new version for the franchise’s big-screen debut. Shreya Ghoshal has joined the original singer Romy to record a fresh duet version titled Vaaroon Forever for Mirzapur: The Movie. The recreated track will release on August 18, 2026, ahead of the film’s theatrical arrival.
The original Vaaroon came out in 2020 and became a fan favourite because of its Sufi-inspired sound and emotional lyrics. The song was picturised on Ali Fazal and Shriya Pilgaonkar in the web series. For the new version, the original composer Anand Bhaskar and lyricist Ginny Diwan are returning to work on the track.
The Original Song Gets a New Version
The original Vaaroon stood out in the action-heavy series for its soft and soothing melody. The track became one of the most recognised songs from the Mirzapur franchise. The upcoming film adaptation is bringing back the song with a fresh twist.
An independent source confirmed to Hindustan Times: “The famous Vaaroon song from the Mirzapur franchise is set to be recreated for Mirzapur: The Movie, titled Vaaroon Forever. While the older version was sung by Romy, Shreya Ghoshal will be joining him on the mic this time.”
Shreya Ghoshal, known for her versatile singing across Bollywood and regional cinema, is now part of the Mirzapur musical universe. Her collaboration with Romy brings together two distinct vocal styles for the duet. The new version aims to stay true to the original song’s emotional depth while offering audiences a fresh listening experience.
Vaaroon Forever Release Date and Details
Vaaroon Forever is scheduled to drop on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. The song will be available on music streaming platforms before the movie hits theatres. The recreated track features both Shreya Ghoshal and Romy on vocals, with Anand Bhaskar composing the music and Ginny Diwan writing the lyrics.
The original Vaaroon was released in 2020 as part of the Mirzapur Season 1 soundtrack. The song’s return in the film adaptation shows that the movie will include emotional and tender moments alongside its usual action and drama.
Mirzapur: The Movie – From Web Series to Theatres
Mirzapur: The Movie marks the shift of the popular crime drama from streaming to the big screen. The film is produced by Excel Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios, with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani serving as producers. Gurmmeet Singh, who directed episodes of the original series, is returning to direct the movie adaptation. The screenplay is written by Puneet Krishna, the creator and writer associated with the series.
The theatrical adaptation will keep the same gritty world and power struggles that defined the Mirzapur universe but will expand the story for a larger cinematic experience. The film is set after the events of the first season of the series.
At the film’s trailer launch, Farhan Akhtar spoke about how the audience played a key role in bringing the film to life. He said:
“The show is a result of fans’ love. They have supported the show from the time it was first released. Amazon took it across the world. Wherever I used to go, people used to ask me, ‘Ki Mirzapur kab aa rha hai?’ When it was announced, people used to ask me the release date, so it is really the fans that have demanded this movie. We are very happy and grateful to have put it together with the original cast and the amazing new cast.”
Cast and Characters Returning for the Film
