The upcoming fantasy anime The Villager of Level 999 has set a firm release date. The official accounts for the series shared a main promotional video and a new visual on June 7, 2026. The show will officially start airing on July 1, 2026.
The series is based on the light novel series by Koneko Hoshitsuki. The animation studio Brain’s Base is producing the show. Fans of fantasy and level-grinding stories now know exactly when they can watch this unique tale about the world’s strongest villager.
Main Trailer Reveals Theme Songs and New Footage
The main promotional video runs over 90 seconds. It gives viewers a proper look at the show’s animation quality and fight scenes. The trailer also confirmed the opening and ending theme songs.
Japanese singers Nakuru Aitsuki and Itsuki Natsume perform the opening theme song titled “Not a Hero.” The song has an energetic rock feel that matches the action scenes shown in the trailer. Yukimura performs the ending theme song “HP.” Both songs play throughout the new promotional video.
The trailer shows Koji Kagami, the main character, using his level 999 power. He easily defeats enemies that others cannot touch. But the trailer also shows his quiet moments with Alice, the demon lord’s daughter. This balance between action and character moments is a key part of the story.

Story Overview: The Strongest Villager
The story takes place in a world called Earthqualia. It is a land of swords and sorcery. Everyone is born with a designated class or role. These classes decide your place in society.
Koji Kagami was born into the weakest class of all: villager. But there is something strange about him. He has somehow reached level 999. That is a power level that even top heroes and demon lords cannot reach.
Despite his power, Koji sees no value in anything other than making money. He stays away from hero work and demon fighting. But his life changes when he meets Alice, the daughter of the demon lord. She is searching for a way for humans and demons to live together. Koji gets pulled into her mission, and together they try to find a path to peace.
The original light novel series has sold well in Japan. Fans enjoy the twist on typical fantasy stories. Instead of a hero saving the world, the main character is a villager who just wants to be left alone. But his power makes that impossible.
New Main Visual Released
Along with the trailer, the production team released a new main visual. The artwork shows Koji Kagami standing in the front with a calm expression. Behind him are Alice and the other main characters. The background shows a fantasy landscape with floating islands and ruined structures.
The visual highlights the contrast between Koji’s simple villager appearance and his overwhelming power. He wears plain clothes while standing in front of an epic fantasy backdrop. This contrast is a central theme of the series.
