Zenless Zone Zero is making two big moves on the same day. Developer HoYoverse confirmed that Season 3 and the game’s Steam version will both launch on June 17, 2026.
The update is called Version 3.0: “A Sleepwalker’s Confession” . It brings players to a floating sky island named Roscaelifer for the first time. This marks the start of a whole new story arc for the urban fantasy action RPG.
Steam Launch with Cross-Platform Save Support
PC players have been waiting for this moment. Zenless Zone Zero will officially arrive on Steam on June 17. The Steam version will support cross-platform data sharing. This means you can play on your PC through Steam and continue your progress on PlayStation 5, Xbox, or mobile devices.
The game is already available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (through the official launcher and Epic Games Store), iOS, and Android. The Steam release gives players another convenient way to jump into New Eridu.
New Sky Island Region: Roscaelifer
Season 3 opens the doors to Roscaelifer, a mysterious sky island that has been teased since the game first launched. This floating city sits above New Eridu and is known as the Celestial Nexus. It was founded and is ruled by Lady Sunbringer.
Roscaelifer feels very different from the streets of New Eridu. The city mixes European-style buildings with flying cars and has a much calmer, warmer atmosphere. About seventy percent of the population is made up of Bangboo, making it a true paradise for the cute robot characters.
Players travel to Roscaelifer because the Proxy (the main character) has a strange Ether energy growing inside their body. The city’s mayor invites them to help treat this condition. Once there, they go undercover as exchange students to explore a restricted area.
New S-Rank Agents: Velina and Norma
Two new S-Rank Agents are joining the roster in Version 3.0.
Velina is the Administrative Director of the External Strategy Department (ESD). She makes history as the first Wind attribute Agent in Zenless Zone Zero. Velina is a Wind Anomaly specialist. She can build up Wind Anomaly on enemies and put them into a Windswept state. When you mix this with another Attribute Anomaly, it creates a special Vortex effect for extra damage.
Norma is the ESD’s Chief Technician. She is a Fire Stun Agent who fights using her hat. Norma builds up something called Preheated Chamber in combat. She can turn her teammates’ Quick Assists into Chain Attacks, giving players more chances to deal big damage.
Two older S-Rank Agents are also coming back as re-run banners. Ye Shunguang and Sunna will be available again during the 3.0 update.
Free S-Rank Agent Pyrois for All Players
HoYoverse is giving away a free S-Rank Agent to every player. Pyrois is not a new recruit from the city. Instead, Pyrois is the Proxy’s own awakened combat form. It is an Etheric Other that fights alongside the player.
You can get Pyrois for free just by playing through the main story of Version 3.0. That is not all. HoYoverse also confirmed that players can unlock all of Pyrois’ Mindscapes (upgrades) and signature W-Engine for free during Season 3. Two Mindscapes are available right away in 3.0 by collecting Pixel Fairy Tales. The W-Engine comes from progressing through the new Interboo account system.
Players also get 1,600 Polychromes as a special Season 3 launch reward. 600 Polychromes arrive on launch day. The other 1,000 come on July 4 to celebrate the game’s second anniversary.
New Outfits and Permanent Game Modes
Belle and Wise, the two Proxy siblings, get new school-themed outfits for Season 3. Since they go to Roscaelifer as exchange students, they each get a new uniform. You can customize these new looks with different accessories. Older accessories can now be used on any outfit.
Version 3.0 also adds two permanent game modes. The first is a squad management activity called Bangbang. The second is Simulacrum of Annihilation, a boss challenge mode where enemies have no elemental weaknesses.
PC players get technical upgrades too. Ray tracing and NVIDIA DLSS support are coming with Version 3.0, making the game look better than ever.
