Yash’s upcoming movie Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has received an ‘A’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film’s official plot and runtime have also been revealed ahead of its August 26 release.
The CBFC’s Bengaluru regional office certified the movie on August 13, 2026. The certificate lists the film’s language as Kannada and its certified length as 194.12 metres. The action thriller has a runtime of 194 minutes and 12 seconds, which is 3 hours, 14 minutes, and 12 seconds.
Official Plot Revealed For Yash’s Toxic
The official plot summary of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has been released along with the certification. The story is set in post-independence Goa.
“A gangster navigates the complexities of loyalty, morality, and the struggle for personal redemption in a post-independence Goa where violence and jealousy reign. With its atmospheric world, brutal action sequences, and morally conflicted characters, the film explores the price one must pay for love and for finding redemption amidst the darkness.”
The film’s plot hints at crime, revenge, violence, and complicated relationships. The story follows a gangster dealing with loyalty, love, and morality in a violent setting.
Yash Returns After Four Years
Toxic marks Yash’s comeback after four years since KGF: Chapter 2 in 2022. The actor plays a dual role in the movie as father and son – Raya and Rumi, also known as Ticket.
The trailer shows a tense father-son relationship. It gives a glimpse of the complicated bond between Yash, Kiara Advani, and Tara Sutaria’s characters amid violence and action. The trailer hints at a possible clash between the father and son’s ideologies. The video ends with Yash’s Raya and Ticket fighting each other with bare hands.

Yash Responds To Shelving Rumours
At the trailer launch in Bengaluru, Yash addressed rumours about the film being shelved.
“Nowadays, I see this a lot. Every time a big film starts, there’ll be news of it being shelved on the 10th day or 20th day! I don’t know where they write these stories. It’s not easy for producers or actors or directors. First of all, making a film is like going to war against the whole world! After all, you don’t know what the mood of the actor would be that day or whether they would have sufficient dates. There’ll be so many issues.”
The film faced multiple delays. It was initially set for release on March 19, 2026, and was later rescheduled to June 4 before finally locking the August 26 date.
