The trailer launch of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups in Bengaluru on August 8 brought together the film’s star cast, but it was Kiara Advani who grabbed the spotlight with her honest words about the film. The actress, who plays Nadia in the movie, shared that her co-star Yash and director Geetu Mohandas believed in her abilities even before she did. “I truly believe that Geetu and Yash manifested for me to be Nadia in this film. They saw it in me and believed I was capable of this much before I knew that fearless leap that I was ready to take as an actor.”
Kiara Advani explained that watching the finished film has made her thankful for that trust. She said that Yash and Geetu Mohandas saw something in her that she had not recognized in herself at the time.
“Thank you Geetu and thank you Yash for giving me a part that I know will be very special for me as an actor in my journey.”

“I think there will be a Kiara before Toxic and a Kiara after Toxic.”

Kiara Advani chose not to reveal many details about her character Nadia. She said that the character is too complex to describe in one word.
“I cannot wait for the world to experience Nadia. I don’t think I can describe her in one word. So, I’m just going to let the audience go and experience it.”

During the same event, Yash spoke highly of Kiara Advani and her commitment to the film. He said that her performance in the trailer is only a small look at what she has done in the movie.
“The kind of role you have performed in this is just a glimpse in trailer. You are so dedicated man. I have seen you like work so hard.”
Yash also talked about how Kiara Advani stood out for being down-to-earth despite being part of a film with many big names. He said that having so many actors on one project could have created problems, but Kiara’s attitude made things easier.
“Initially, we all thought that getting so many actors onboard would create problems and give rise to a lot of issues. But right from the very beginning, Kiara has been extremely down-to-earth. She dedicated herself and surrendered to this vision.”
The actor also appeared to address the criticism Kiara Advani faced over her bold scenes in the song Tabaahi. Without directly talking about the trolls, Yash said that actors should stand by what they believe in.
“Whatever you believe in, you should do and people will celebrate, people will appreciate. It’s just that we are a little ahead of times.”
Kiara Advani has faced online backlash for her intimate scenes with Yash in the film. Some people also questioned her husband, actor Sidharth Malhotra, for allowing her to do such scenes. However, Kiara has maintained that taking up the role was the best decision she made.
