The wait for Indian audiences is finally over. Salman Khan has officially announced the India release date for his international action thriller 7 Dogs. The film, which also features Sanjay Dutt in a special appearance, will hit Indian theatres on August 21, 2026.

Salman Khan made the announcement on August 10 through his Instagram story, where he shared a new trailer cut specifically for Indian audiences. The promotional video includes Hindi dubbing for the Egyptian lead actors, Karim Abdel Aziz and Ahmed Ezz, adding a local flavour for Indian viewers.

The film has already created significant buzz across Arab countries, where it released earlier this year. With its high-octane action sequences and massive stunts, 7 Dogs is now set to bring its crime-action story to Indian cinemas.

A Global Cinematic Collaboration

7 Dogs is a rare international production that brings together talent from India, Egypt, Europe, Hollywood, and the Middle East. The film is produced by Sela Studios with support from Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority (GEA) and Riyadh Season.

The project has been conceived and co-written by Turki Alalshikh, who also serves as chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority.

Star-Studded Cast

While Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt appear in cameo roles, the film is led by Egyptian superstars Karim Abdel Aziz and Ahmed Ezz. The ensemble cast also features international names including Monica Bellucci and Giancarlo Esposito. Other cast members include Tara Emad, Nasser Al-Qasabi, and Max Huang.

For Indian audiences, one of the biggest attractions is the presence of Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt on screen together. The two Bollywood stars previously shared screen space in films like Saajan (1991), Chal Mere Bhai (2000), and Yeh Hai Jalwa (2002). Their on-screen chemistry has remained popular with audiences over the years.

Reports suggest Salman and Sanjay were approached for their cameo roles because of their close relationship with the producer. The duo travelled to Riyadh in February last year for a three-day shooting schedule.

Directed by Hollywood’s ‘Bad Boys’ Filmmakers

7 Dogs is directed by the acclaimed filmmaking duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. The directors are best known for steering the blockbuster Bad Boys franchise with Bad Boys for Life and Bad Boys: Ride or Die. They have also worked on Marvel’s Ms. Marvel, making 7 Dogs another major action project in their growing international filmography.

Speaking about the film’s international collaboration and its India release, the directors said:

“7 Dogs has always been a truly international film for us. Ahmed and Karim are the heart of the story, and they brought incredible energy to these characters. Around them, we had the opportunity to work with extraordinary performers from different parts of the world, including Monica, Giancarlo, Salman and Sanjay. That combination is what makes the film so special. We are thrilled that audiences in India will now get to experience 7 Dogs on the big screen.”

High-Octane Action and Record-Breaking Stunts

The film has been mounted on an unusually large scale for an Arab-language production. According to reports, the budget is nearly $40 million, making it one of the most expensive films to come out of the Arab region.

Much of the production was filmed at Al-Hosn Big Time Studios in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The makers focused strongly on practical action, stunts, and real explosions.

The film’s combat design and stunt sequences were developed in partnership with 87Eleven, the legendary stunt company behind the John Wick franchise. Veteran stunt coordinator Stephen Dunlevy, whose portfolio includes Mad Max: Fury Road and John Wick, served as the lead action designer.

One of the film’s standout features is a sequence that has earned 7 Dogs a place in the Guinness World Records. The film features what has been recognised as the largest film stunt explosion, with the blast equivalent to 170.7 tonnes of TNT. This remarkable feat surpassed the previous record associated with the James Bond films Spectre and No Time to Die.

What Is ‘7 Dogs’ About?

The plot follows International Interpol agent Khalid Al-Azzazi, who succeeds in apprehending Ghali Abu Dawood, a key figure in a secret worldwide crime syndicate nicknamed ‘7 Dogs’.

However, when the syndicate reappears a year later dealing in a new deadly drug called ‘Pink Lady’ in the Middle East, Khalid finds himself working alongside the only person who understands the inner workings of the syndicate. Their covert operation spans several cities around the world.

Salman Khan’s Upcoming Projects

Apart from 7 Dogs, Salman Khan has several other projects in the pipeline. He will next star in Vamshi Paidipally’s action thriller, tentatively titled SVC63. The project will mark his first on-screen collaboration with South Indian star Nayanthara. Produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations, the film has locked in a theatrical release for Eid 2027.

Salman is also set to return as the host of Bigg Boss 20, starting from September 6 onwards.

Release Details

7 Dogs will release in Indian cinemas on August 21, 2026, in both Hindi and English. The film will be available in theatres across India, giving fans the opportunity to watch the two Bollywood stars in their much-talked-about cameo appearances on the big screen.

With Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt representing India, Egyptian stars leading from the front, Monica Bellucci bringing European star power, and the Bad Boys directors at the helm, 7 Dogs is shaping up to be one of the most exciting international releases of the year.
