EXO member and actor Suho is returning to the big screen alongside a powerhouse cast in the upcoming action drama Father’s Secret (working title). The film pairs him with Park Hee Soon, Ra Mi Ran, and Han Ji Eun in a story about a young man whose ordinary life is turned upside down by a secret his father has kept hidden. Production company K-Movie Entertainment confirmed the casting on October 30, 2026, and announced that filming will begin in November 2026.
The project brings together a mix of experienced screen actors and a K-pop idol turned leading man. It also marks the final part of a trilogy from director Yoon Jae-ho, whose previous films earned recognition at major international film festivals.
The Story at the Center of Father’s Secret
Father’s Secret follows Tae-seong, played by Suho, a young man living what looks like a normal life. That changes when he learns about a secret his father has been hiding. The discovery pulls him into a chain of unexpected events, and he begins to uncover the truth about his own family.
The film is described as an action drama. It mixes family conflict with suspenseful action sequences. The father’s hidden past sits at the heart of the story, and the choices made by each family member drive the plot forward.
Park Hee Soon plays Ki-soo, the father. He is described as a man who looks like an ordinary head of the household but carries an unusual past behind that calm surface.
Ra Mi Ran takes the role of Sun-hee, the mother. Her character runs a small shop and works to hold the family together while the secret begins to surface.
Han Ji-eun plays Jin-seo, a character placed at the center of the incident that shakes the family. Her role adds tension to the story as the events unfold.
Park Myung-hoon will make a special appearance in the film.
Suho’s Return to the Screen and His Character
For Suho, whose real name is Kim Jun-myeon, Father’s Secret marks a return to film acting. His agency SM Entertainment said on October 30 that through this project, Suho will show a deeper acting range.
His character Tae-seong is not just a passive figure caught in the family secret. The role has a personal conflict built into it. Tae-seong is a young man who has finished his military service and now stands between two paths. One is his goal of becoming a musician. The other is the option of going back to school. The film shows how he deals with hardship and grows through the events that follow his father’s secret.
Suho has built an acting career alongside his music work. His television credits include Missing Crown Prince (2024), where he played Crown Prince Lee Gon. He has also appeared in dramas such as Hip and Behind Your Touch, and in the film Glory Day. On the music side, he remains a member of EXO, one of the most well-known K-pop groups.
A Director With Festival Credentials
Yoon Jae-ho directs Father’s Secret. His previous film, Beautiful Days, was the opening film of the 23rd Busan International Film Festival. His other film, Fighter, was selected for the Generation section at the 71st Berlin International Film Festival.
Father’s Secret is the final installment in a trilogy that began with Beautiful Days and continued with Fighter. The project was developed through the Cannes Film Festival’s Cinéfondation Residence, a program that supports emerging filmmakers.
The screenplay was also selected for the Asian Project Market (APM) at the 2021 Busan International Film Festival, where it received the Busan Award. The film is Yoon’s first feature-length screenplay.
Production and Release Details
Gogo Studio is handling production. K-Movie Studio and France’s Zorba Production are co-producers. K-Movie Entertainment is in charge of main investment and distribution.
Filming is scheduled to begin in November 2026. The film is slated for release in 2027. No specific release date or streaming platform has been announced yet. Viewers in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, India, and other global markets will need to wait for further distribution details as the project moves into production.
What the Cast Brings to the Film
Park Hee Soon brings a long list of film and drama credits to the role of Ki-soo. His recent work includes The Judge Returns. The role of the father requires him to play a man with two sides: the ordinary family man on the surface and the hidden past underneath.
Ra Mi Ran is known for both dramatic and comedic roles. She has appeared in the film Hi-Five. Her character Sun-hee runs a small shop and tries to protect the family as the secret comes to light.
Han Ji-eun plays Jin-seo, the character who stands at the center of the incident. Her role links the family’s story to the wider events that drive the action.
Park Myung-hoon joins for a special appearance. His part adds another layer to the ensemble.
A Family Drama Wrapped in Action
The film’s structure places the family unit at the front. The father’s hidden history is the engine of the plot. The action comes from the unpredictable events that follow once the secret is exposed. The mix of family drama and action gives the project a distinct shape among upcoming Korean films.
