The Boston Blue Episode 19 cast brought serious drama to CBS on May 15, 2026, as the police procedural delivered one of its most emotional hours yet.

The episode, titled “Chasing Monsters,” follows Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) and Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green) hunting a dangerous person targeting police officers. The killer threatens to take down all 2,172 active officers in the Boston Police Department.
The show airs Fridays at 10:00 PM ET/PT on CBS. Viewers can stream episodes live on Paramount+ Premium or watch the next day on Paramount+ Essential.
Donnie Wahlberg and Sonequa Martin-Green Lead the Investigation
Donnie Wahlberg returns as Danny Reagan, the NYPD detective who moved to Boston. In this episode, Danny handles a tough case when someone kills an officer. He partners with Lena to find the stalker while dealing with his son’s emotional breakdown.
Sonequa Martin-Green plays Lena Silver, a Boston detective still struggling with the truth about her biological father. The cop killings hit close for the Silver family, who lost Ben in the line of duty. This leads to a honest talk between Lena and her mother.
Gloria Reuben appears as Mae Silver, the Boston District Attorney. She faces pressure both at work and at home. Mae tells her subordinate to charge a teenager with involuntary manslaughter, but the subordinate files murder charges instead to gain political advantage for the upcoming DA election.
Mika Amonsen plays Sean Reagan, Danny’s son. The episode explores Sean’s guilt after two of his cop friends get shot while guarding his patrol area. Sean loses control and beats a suspect, forcing Danny to step in.

Supporting Cast Adds Depth to the Episode
The episode features strong performances from the regular supporting cast:
- Ernie Hudson as Reverend Edwin Peters
- Maggie Lawson as Police Superintendent Sarah Silver
- Marcus Scribner as rookie cop Jonah Silver
Guest Stars Bring New Drama
Several guest stars appeared in Episode 19:
- Erik King as Chris Williams, Lena’s biological father
- Alisha Wainwright as Kristina Reed, Lena’s half-sister
- Brad Hodder as Steve, the officer killed in the line of duty
- Ward Horton as a lawyer and Mae’s subordinate
The episode also revealed more about Lena’s family history. Mae finally told Lena the complete truth about why she kept Lena’s father away. Years ago, teenage Lena was just starting to accept Ben as her father when Chris came back. Chris was in a new relationship and expecting a daughter. Mae believed telling Lena would create more problems.
Gloria Reuben explained her character’s thinking:
“I don’t think there’s any changing Mae’s mind at all because she truly believed that she did the right thing at that time. Because Lena’s father, he was incarcerated and he was in service overseas. When they did reconnect, he was married and expecting [Kristina]. It was a mutual decision for them to just go on individually with their own lives.”

Lena strongly disagreed with her mother’s choice and wished she knew about her father and sister sooner.
