Comedian Samay Raina has officially started filming the second season of his popular YouTube show India’s Got Latent. After months of waiting and a major controversy that led to the first season being taken down, Samay shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the set on May 28, 2026, confirming that the show is making its return.

The comedian took to Instagram to give fans a sneak peek. In the picture, Samay is seen holding a microphone while fellow comedian Balraj Ghai stands behind him. The faces of other panel members were hidden on purpose, building curiosity about who will appear as judges in the new season.

Samay captioned the post in Hindi saying, “Uski bhi shooting chal rahi hai dostoooo,” which means “That is also being shot, friends.” This update came after fans flooded his DMs asking about the show when he had earlier posted about bringing back his chess tournament.

Viral Leaked Picture Shows Alia Bhatt and Sharvari on Set

Before Samay’s official confirmation, a leaked picture from the sets of India’s Got Latent Season 2 had already taken over social media in mid-May 2026. The viral image showed Bollywood actors Alia Bhatt and Sharvari sitting on the panel alongside Balraj Ghai and comedian Aashish Solanki.

The photo spread quickly across Reddit and X (formerly Twitter), sparking strong reactions from fans. Many believe that Alia and Sharvari were filming a special episode to promote their upcoming spy thriller Alpha, which is scheduled to release in theaters on July 10, 2026.

However, neither the actors nor the show’s creators have officially confirmed whether they will appear as guests in the new season. Some social media users even questioned if the image was made using AI.

Not everyone is happy about the possibility of Bollywood stars joining the show. Some fans expressed disappointment on social media, with one user commenting, “Alpha promotion,” while another wrote, “Latent will soon become a film promotion show.”

The Controversy That Shut Down Season 1

The return of India’s Got Latent comes after a very difficult period for Samay Raina. In February 2025, the show landed in serious trouble when guest judge Ranveer Allahbadia (known as BeerBiceps) asked a contestant an inappropriate question about parents and sex.

The remark caused massive outrage online. People filed complaints with the Mumbai Police Commissioner and the National Commission for Women. Multiple FIRs were registered against Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Makhija, and Samay Raina.

Following the legal pressure, Samay removed all episodes of India’s Got Latent from YouTube. The controversy also took a personal toll on him, with the comedian later sharing that he suffered from anxiety during that period.

RJ Mahvash Confirms Her Appearance in Season 2

Radio jockey and content creator RJ Mahvash has confirmed that she will be part of the upcoming season. In a recent podcast with Pinkvilla, she revealed that Samay personally invited her to appear on the show.

Mahvash also defended Samay and Ranveer Allahbadia following the controversy. She said, “I agree that they were wrong, but humans do make mistakes. So let’s not roast them further. Since I know them as humans and they are great guys. They never cross their line and disrespect others.”

She added that Samay asked her during a shoot if she would attend the next season, and she immediately agreed.

Balraj Ghai Clarified Earlier Release Date Confusion

Earlier in May 2026, a video of Balraj Ghai went viral where he appeared to say that India’s Got Latent Season 2 would drop on May 9. In the clip, he said, “I’m just waiting for May 9, when the second season will drop.”

However, Balraj quickly clarified that the date was not for the show but for an online sale. He explained that fans had misunderstood his statement, and the show’s actual release date was yet to be announced.

Samay had first confirmed that the show would return during his comedy special Still Alive, which came out on YouTube in April 2026. He also opened live audience registrations for the new season around that time.
