The upcoming Blue Lock live action movie just dropped a new trailer and revealed its theme song. The film, which brings the hit soccer manga to the big screen with real actors, is set to open in Japan on August 7, 2026. Japanese singer Ado performs the theme track titled “Monstruo,” which plays throughout the latest preview.

Ado’s new song came together through a team of well-known creators. The music production duo Giga and TeddyLoid, who previously worked with Ado on hits like “Odo” and “Show,” handled the composition and arrangement. Ryo, from the creative group supercell, wrote the lyrics. The title “Monstruo” means “monster” in Spanish, which fits the movie’s story about players awakening their inner drive to become the best.

The singer shared her thoughts about being chosen for the project.

“My new song ‘Monstruo’ has been selected as the theme song for the Blue Lock movie. Following ‘Odo’ and ‘Show,’ Giga and TeddyLoid have teamed up once again to create a passionate song driven by a Latin inspired rhythm. The title ‘Monstruo’ means ‘monster’ in Spanish. It perfectly matches the message of the film, encouraging people to awaken the monster within themselves and fight to move forward higher than anyone else.”

Ado also mentioned that she hopes viewers enjoy the team up between her music and the Blue Lock movie.

Film Producer Explains Why They Asked Ado for the Theme Song

Shinzo Matsuhashi, who serves as a producer on the Blue Lock live action film, spoke about the decision to bring Ado on board. He said the production team wanted to create something that could work for audiences around the world.

“We wanted to create an entertainment film for a new generation that could compete on a global stage. We boldly asked Ado to create a song that could stand alongside ‘Odo’ and ‘Show.’ What seemed like an impossible dream collaboration became reality once again, and we received an incredibly exciting new song.”

Matsuhashi also talked about the main idea behind Blue Lock, which is “egoism.”

“The word ‘egoist’ can sometimes sound negative or selfish, but that is not what this story is about. When true egoists gather together, they create team play beyond imagination and open the door to an entirely new world. This song, created through the powerful creative egos of Giga, TeddyLoid, ryo, and Ado, is proof of that.”
