Episode Recaps

Episode 1: There’s Something About Morty (Aired May 24, 2026)

The season premiere opens with Morty discovering that Rick has been secretly communicating with Evil Morty. Morty learns that Evil Morty has been blackmailing Rick using the Omega Device, which can erase every version of a person across the multiverse.

Throughout the episode, Rick, Morty, and Evil Morty team up to defeat a multiverse-eating entity called the Collective. During a mission, Morty becomes increasingly insecure after witnessing the intellectual chemistry between Rick and Evil Morty.

Rick hatches a meticulous plan: while pretending to go to the bathroom at a diner, he secretly returns to Evil Morty’s lair and destroys the Omega Device’s blueprint from every reality. Evil Morty attacks the Smith family in a bunker dimension but is arrested by the Time Police.

The episode ends with Evil Morty being processed into a regular human prison, and Rick telling the family, “Season 9, baby.”

Episode 2: Ricks Days, Seven Nights (Aired May 31, 2026)

The second episode delves into existential themes as Rick’s summer vacation consciousness, named Ted, takes center stage. Ted lives as a humble PVC product salesman in a primitive world, representing Rick’s desire for a peaceful, grounded life.

When Ted’s defense mechanism is triggered, he learns the truth about his existence. He refuses to return control to Rick, leading to a confrontation with Rick’s extraction fleet. Ted builds a rocket with his friends and reaches Rick’s reality, only to become conflicted upon seeing Rick’s life and family.

After returning his friends home, Ted goes on a drunken journey and eventually destroys all signs of his past life. The mid-credits scene shows Rick about to marry a member of an aquatic species before Summer and Morty intervene.
