The official trailer of Awarapan 2 will be released on August 6, 2026. This comes just over a week before the film hits theatres worldwide.
Emraan Hashmi and Vishesh Bhatt made this announcement during their Instagram Live session. The trailer is expected to give audiences a proper look at the sequel’s story, action sequences, and the return of Shivam Pandit after 19 years.

No Delay, Film Releasing as Planned
There were rumours circulating on social media that Awarapan 2 might be postponed to September. But Emraan Hashmi and Vishesh Bhatt put all those speculations to rest during the live session.

Vishesh Bhatt made it clear that Vishesh Films never announced any change to the release date. The film has always been scheduled for an Independence Day weekend release. He also explained that the production took longer because of the large-scale action sequences. Emraan Hashmi suffered an injury during filming and needed time to recover.

Original Awarapan to Re-release as a Prequel

“After watching part 2, they’ll be very curious to see Awarapan 1. I am saying this live here that we will be releasing Awarapan 1 as a prequel.”

Disha Patani Learned Cello for Her Role
Disha Patani plays a key role in Awarapan 2. During the live session, Vishesh Bhatt shared an interesting detail about her preparation for the film. She learned to play the cello.
“Disha was playing the cello! She learned the instrument for the film, which is amazing. First day, had to play cello, and we were all thrown into the deep end of the pool.”

Shabana Azmi Plays the Antagonist Nafisa

Vishesh Bhatt welcomed the competition with confidence:
“We are lucky to be coming to theatres with the legend Sunny Deol. This is our first holiday release.”
Despite the clash, the makers are confident about their release strategy. The film has already generated strong pre-release buzz with the release of songs like Ve Junoon and Yeh Awarapan.
