Emraan Hashmi is finally enjoying a massive box office success with his latest movie Awarapan 2. The film, which came out nearly two decades after the original, has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide in its opening weekend. This big achievement made his wife, Parveen Hashmi, share a deep and personal note on social media. She talked about his 23-year journey in Bollywood, the tough times, and why he deserves this success more than anyone.
Parveen Hashmi Opens Up About Emraan’s 23-Year Bollywood Journey
On Monday, Parveen Hashmi took to Instagram and shared the poster of Awarapan 2. Along with it, she wrote a long message that gave fans a close look at Emraan’s career. She began by saying that it took her husband 23 years to reach this point. She mentioned the years of patience, dedication, faith, and countless prayers that went into building his career.
Parveen recalled how Fridays in the film industry brought both incredible highs and deep disappointments. But Emraan never let any setback stop him. She wrote that he kept showing up, kept working, and kept believing that his hard work would pay off someday.
“It has taken Emi 23 years to get here today… 23 years of patience, dedication, faith, surrender, countless blessings and prayers!! There were Fridays that brought incredible highs, and there were Fridays that brought heartbreak and disappointment, but he never allowed any of it to stop him from moving forward.”
‘Akha Bollywood Ek Taraf Aur Emraan Hashmi Ek Taraf’
Parveen also used a very popular line from The Ba*ds of Bollywood to describe her husband’s unique place in the industry. She wrote, “Akha Bollywood ek taraf aur Emraan Hashmi ek taraf”. She believes this line resonates deeply with both the industry and his fans because he has always stood out.
She added that even with all the success and love coming his way, people keep asking her how he stays so grounded and calm. For Parveen, this quality is what makes him different from others.
A Glimpse Behind the Scenes
Parveen’s note also gave fans a sneak peek into Emraan’s daily life. She shared that she has seen what goes on behind the scenes every single day. She mentioned how he studies his scripts, learns his dialogues (some of them in Telugu), and practices scenes behind closed doors. She also talked about his strict routine of eating right, exercising, and taking care of himself. Nothing could break his routine, not even on holidays.
Parveen called herself Emraan’s “biggest critic”. But looking at all the love and response he is getting for Awarapan 2, she said she couldn’t be more grateful. She ended her note with an inspiring message for everyone. She urged people to never give up on their dreams, stay focused, stay disciplined, and enjoy the journey.

Awarapan 2’s Strong Box Office Performance
Awarapan 2 released in theatres on August 14, 2026, during the Independence Day weekend. The film opened with Rs 22 crore on its first day. On Saturday, the collections jumped by around 55 percent, earning Rs 33.75 crore. The movie maintained its momentum on Sunday with Rs 26 crore. In its opening weekend, the film collected Rs 81.75 crore net in India and grossed Rs 117.40 crore worldwide.
On its first Monday, the film saw a 64% drop but still managed to collect Rs 9.25 crore net in India. Within four days, Awarapan 2 has earned Rs 91 crore net in India and grossed Rs 130.82 crore worldwide. The film’s overseas collection also crossed Rs 21.80 crore.
A Big Comeback After 14 Years
This success is very special for Emraan Hashmi. Reports say he has scored a box office hit after a 14-year wait. The original Awarapan, released in 2007, did not do well at the box office. It earned only Rs 7.50 crore net in India during its entire run. Over the years, the film gained a cult status because of its popular songs like “Tera Mera Rishta” and “Toh Phir Aao”. The sequel has now surpassed the lifetime collection of the original movie within its opening day itself.
The film is directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt under Vishesh Films. Apart from Emraan Hashmi, the movie also features Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi, Suvinder Vicky, and Salil Acharya in key roles.
