The worldwide gross collection of Awarapan 2 has reached Rs 144.13 crore. The film is now very close to touching the Rs 150 crore mark globally. With its current pace, a Rs 170 crore week is very likely.

Beating Alpha’s Lifetime Haul

One of the biggest achievements of Awarapan 2 is that it has beaten the lifetime collections of several recent Bollywood releases in just five days. The film has surpassed the final collection of Alpha (Rs 99 crore) and Cocktail 2 (Rs 143 crore). Both of these films had much larger production budgets than Awarapan 2.

Alpha, which was part of the YRF Spy Universe, had a lifetime net collection of around Rs 59 crore in India. In contrast, Awarapan 2 has already earned over Rs 100 crore net in India in just five days. This shows the massive difference in box office performance between the two films.

A Major Milestone for Emraan Hashmi

Awarapan 2 marks a significant moment in Emraan Hashmi’s career. The actor, who has been in the industry for 18 years, has finally delivered his first solo Rs 100 crore film. Prior to this, his biggest hit was Raaz 3, which earned Rs 70 crore net in India and Rs 100 crore gross worldwide.

Hashmi has been part of Rs 100 crore blockbusters before, such as Tiger 3 and They Call Him OG, but those were multi-starrer films. Awarapan 2 is the first film led entirely by him to achieve this milestone.

Reacting to the film’s success, Hashmi’s wife Parveen shared an emotional post on social media. She wrote:
