BLACKPINK member LISA is gearing up for the release of her new solo single “SaWaDiKa,” set to drop on September 3, 2026. The K-pop star shared the official music video teaser on September 2, giving fans a sneak peek of what to expect. But within hours, social media exploded with everything from excitement to sharp criticism.
The teaser shows LISA walking through a hallway lined with TV screens, wearing a red and black bodysuit. The visual campaign also features Muay Thai elements and a traditional Thai tuk-tuk, honoring her Thai heritage. The song’s title comes from the Thai greeting “sawasdee ka,” which is used by women in Thailand.
Netizens Question LISA’s Changing Appearance
One of the biggest talking points online has been LISA‘s appearance in the teaser. Screenshots from the promotional video went viral on September 1, with many users claiming she looks “different”.
Some social media users said they could barely recognize the singer. Comments like “Did Lisa have plastic surgery? Her face looks so different” and “Is this Lisa? I’m serious. I can’t recognize her anymore” started trending across platforms.

Others pointed to her nose, saying it looked different from before. One user wrote: “I miss Lisa’s old nose. It feels like she’s still Lisa, but not quite like Lisa anymore”.
Not everyone agreed with these claims. Some fans defended LISA, pointing out that camera angles, lighting, makeup, and visual effects can change how someone looks on screen. They argued that these accusations are just rumors since LISA has not confirmed any surgery.
Accusations of Copying Another Artist
The teaser also sparked another controversy. Some netizens compared the snippet of “SaWaDiKa” to “Crank,” a song by American singer Slayyyter.
One user wrote: “I KNEW someone from kpop was eventually gonna copy crank by slayyyter”. Another commented: “A mess. Crank by slayyyter ended this knockoff”.
The backlash didn’t stop there. Many criticized the lyrics, which include lines like:
“Hello, Sawadika / Yeah, you know my wrist is cold / Got this timepiece from Geneva / If you know it, then you know / I’m that bitch on your TV / In my Ferrari, indigo / La Lalisa, la diva / Sawadika there she go.”
Critics said the lyrics focus too much on money, fame, and personal branding. Some called the song “corny” and “narcissistic”.

Fans noted that the snippet highlights LISA‘s continued focus on strong visual performance and solo branding. Some believe it’s too early to judge the full song based on a short teaser.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand also showed support. Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool commented under LISA‘s Instagram announcement:
“Thank you so much, Lisa. The phrase you are promoting adds even greater resonance to the warmth and friendliness of the Thai people — ‘sawasdee ka’.”
LISA has served as the “Amazing Thailand Ambassador” since 2025, representing the country internationally.
