The official trailer for Manoj Bajpayee‘s upcoming film Last Man in Tower is now out, and it shows a tense battle over a Mumbai housing society where money, morality, and personal principles collide. Based on Aravind Adiga‘s bestselling novel of the same name, the film is set to release in theatres on September 11, 2026.
The story follows the residents of Vishram Society, a peaceful housing complex in Mumbai that becomes the target of developers looking to acquire the property. While the residents are presented with an attractive financial offer, one man refuses to give in.
Manoj Bajpayee Plays Masterji, a Man Who Stands Alone
Manoj Bajpayee plays Yogesh Mishra, also called Masterji, a retired schoolteacher who refuses to sell his flat. What begins as a personal decision soon becomes a problem for the entire building because the redevelopment cannot move forward unless every resident agrees to the deal.
The trailer shows Masterji watching his neighbours gradually turn against him. The same people who once formed his community begin seeing him differently as their own futures become tied to his decision. Masterji is not simply standing against a builder. Boman Irani‘s character emerges as one of the key figures pushing the redevelopment forward, while Divya Dutta‘s Mrs Puri appears caught within the growing tension around Masterji’s refusal.
The film marks the first time Manoj Bajpayee and Boman Irani have shared the screen.
