The Chinese drama The Early Spring (早春晴朗) continues to dominate Netflix’s global charts, and Episode 15 delivered some of the most intense moments yet. The episode, titled “Two Persons, One Heart,” brought together jealousy, workplace tension, and a major test for Luan Nian (played by Jing Boran) and Shang Zhitao (played by Sun Qian). With the series now past its halfway mark, this episode set up major conflicts that will shape the remaining episodes.
A New Pet Creates Jealousy and Comedy
Episode 15 opens with Zhitao and her flatmates dealing with a housing crisis after Lei’s ex-wife tried to sell their house. But the real drama begins when Zhitao shows up at Luan Nian’s apartment with a new companion—a Samoyed dog she rescued and named Luke.
Luan Nian is not happy about sharing his name with a dog. His annoyance turns to jealousy when Zhitao asks the dog to call him “Uncle Luan”. The situation gets even more awkward when Luke the dog interrupts a romantic moment between the couple. This lighthearted conflict gave viewers a break from the heavier emotional scenes while showing Luan Nian’s possessive side.
Zhitao Overhears a Painful Truth
The episode takes a serious turn when Zhitao returns to Luan Nian’s place to pack her things. While she is there, Luan Nian’s mother calls and asks if Zhitao is his girlfriend. She tells him he should bring her home to meet the family.
But Luan Nian says he does not plan to introduce her to his family because “it is not the right time yet”. Zhitao hears this conversation and starts questioning whether Luan Nian truly loves her. This moment of doubt adds real tension to their relationship, especially after everything they have been through.
A Promise That Changes Everything
Later, Luan Nian takes Zhitao to a bar in the mountains. There, she meets his best friends for the first time. They tell her that Luan Nian has never introduced a girlfriend to them before.
This changes everything for Zhitao. Her doubts about his feelings start to fade. She realizes that even though he is not ready to introduce her to his family, he has taken a big step by bringing her into his inner circle. The couple spends quality time together, and Zhitao returns home to Harbin to celebrate New Year with her family.
A Face-Off With the Past
The office storyline takes a sharp turn when a new general manager named Dony joins Lime. Dony is not just any new employee—he is the man who once betrayed Luan Nian.
This creates immediate tension at the office. Luan Nian stays calm on the surface, but the power dynamics at work start to shift. Zhitao learns about what happened between the two men and decides to support Luan Nian when Dony tries to poach his employees. This workplace conflict adds another layer of pressure to an already complicated situation.
