BLACKPINK’s LISA continues her solo success. Her new music video “SaWaDiKa” reached 100 million views on YouTube faster than any other music video released this year. The Thai artist achieved this milestone in roughly two days, setting a new 2026 record for the quickest climb to the 100-million mark.
A Record-Setting YouTube Debut
LISA released the music video for “SaWaDiKa” on September 4 at 9 a.m. KST through her agency LLOUD Co. and RCA Records. The track serves as the lead single from her upcoming EP “PRESS PLAY,” scheduled for release on October 23.
The video’s opening numbers were massive. Within its first 24 hours, “SaWaDiKa” pulled in 70.8 million views on YouTube’s public counter. That figure makes it the biggest first-day total for any music video released in 2026. It also places the release just behind LISA’s own 2021 solo debut “LALISA,” which recorded 73.6 million views in its opening day.
By September 6 at around 1 p.m. KST, the video had officially crossed the 100 million view mark. The total time from release to milestone was approximately two days and four hours. This makes “SaWaDiKa” the fastest music video of 2026 to reach 100 million views.
A Celebration of Thai Culture
The music video is more than just a visual for a song. LISA, who is Thai, used the release to put her home country’s culture in the spotlight. The title “SaWaDiKa” comes from the Thai greeting “sawasdee ka,” which is used by female speakers.
Director Bang Jae Yeob filmed the video in Bangkok. The production features well-known Thai imagery throughout. Viewers can spot Muay Thai, tuk-tuks, Chula kites, and local streetscapes. Specific locations include Rong Mueang Road near Hua Lamphong, Soi Ngam Duphli in Sathorn, Soi Chaloem Khet 1 in the Yotse area, and contemporary art space Dib Bangkok.
This approach follows a formula LISA has used before. Her 2024 solo single “Rockstar” turned Bangkok’s Yaowarat Road into a neon-lit stage. With “SaWaDiKa,” she expands the canvas to show more sides of Bangkok, from older neighbourhoods to modern art spaces.
The Team Behind the Track
LISA is credited as one of the song’s writers. She worked with a team that includes Thom Bridges, Mark Williams, Raul Cubina, Rachel West, and Danny Chung. Production duties were handled by Bridges and the producer duo Ojivolta. Ojivolta have credits on major international releases, including ROSÉ’s “On The Ground” and Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow’s “Industry Baby”. The three-minute track was mixed by Manny Marroquin and mastered by Randy Merrill, with Kuk Harrell serving as vocal producer and recording engineer.
Fan Reactions and Online Discussion
The achievement drew a large response from fans online. After the milestone, LLOUD posted on social media, saying: “SaWaDiKa has reached 100 Million views Thank you all for watching!”. LISA also shared her thanks on her Instagram story, writing in Thai: “ขอบคุณค่ะ” (Thank you).
“She did it again. AND by herself”
Some fans also raised questions about the speed of the view count. A few users on social media asked whether advertising or recommendation placement had boosted the numbers. YouTube later clarified that the recommendations users saw came from its algorithm rather than a paid campaign. There were also some concerns raised about the legitimacy of the view counts.
