“It has probably our raunchiest scene in either show to date,” Medrano told ScreenRant at New York Comic Con. “It doesn’t cross the line, in my opinion, but it goes right up to it. Tastefully!”
That raunchy scene is a music video-style sequence that Medrano said shocked even the series lead . Brandon Rogers, who voices Blitzo, added his own description of the season’s tone.
“Not more souls, but more holes. Let me tell you, this is a hot season! People are getting filled and killed.”
What Makes This Season Different from the First Two
The move to Prime Video changed how the season was made. Seasons 1 and 2 debuted on YouTube first, but Season 3 launched on Prime Video before eventually arriving on YouTube for free . Medrano confirmed that the creative team at SpindleHorse kept full control of the show throughout the transition .
“The show is still 100% our creative vision,” Medrano told Polygon .
The season also leans harder into character-driven stories. The official synopsis says Blitzo and Stolas are “struggling to find out where they stand,” Millie and Moxxie are “preparing for a life-changing surprise,” and Loona is “taking on a larger role at I.M.P.” . Medrano described the season as “more raw” than the earlier ones.
“It’s not just raunchier, but it just gets more raw than any seasons past,” she told ScreenRant. “I feel like this is the season we really locked in.”

The Hazbin Hotel Crossover Has Already Started
One of the quieter developments this season is the Hazbin Hotel crossover. Medrano confirmed that visual crossovers appear in the first half of Season 3, with bigger plans for the second half in 2027 .
“What’s fun about the first half is, on the visual side, we were able to lean into that crossoverness,” she told Polygon. “We were able to go, ‘Oh, we can actually maybe see Hazbin characters.’ So you might see some things.”
The second half was written after the Amazon deal was finalized, which is why the crossover elements are more direct there . Medrano described the second-half crossover as “a little bit more than a cameo” .
