Actor Park Sung Hoon is facing strong criticism after posting a controversial photo on his social media. The photo was a parody of the popular Netflix series “Squid Game,” but it featured imagery from Japanese adult videos (AV).
The Controversial Post and Initial Response
The photo, which showed a parody cover of “Squid Game” with Japanese AV actresses, was quickly deleted after being posted. Following the deletion, Park Sung Hoon’s agency, BH Entertainment, issued an initial statement. However, many online users questioned the explanation given by the agency. The initial statement suggested that the post was uploaded accidentally while checking a direct message (DM). Many people found this explanation hard to believe, suggesting it was more likely that Park Sung Hoon re-uploaded a saved photo from his device.
A Second Statement and Further Criticism
On December 31, BH Entertainment released a second statement, offering a different explanation. They stated:
The photo was received via DM and saved to his photo album while he was forwarding it to a company representative.
This new statement contradicted the previous one, further fueling the criticism. Online communities also shared details about the content of the controversial photo, leading to even stronger reactions from Korean netizens.
Netizen Reactions
The online reaction to the photo and the changing explanations has been overwhelmingly negative. Here are some of the comments from Korean netizens:
“Crazy.”
“From rape to murder..what do they see women as.”
“I shouldn’t have looked at the poster.”
“It looked like rape just by looking at the photo he posted.”
“Shook.”
These comments reflect the strong disapproval and shock expressed by the public regarding the post and its content. The incident has caused significant damage to Park Sung Hoon’s public image, with many calling for further action.
