A deleted sex scene from The White Lotus Season 3 finale has drawn a $500,000 offer from adult streaming platform CamSoda. The unaired moment featured characters Piper (Sarah Catherine Hook) and Zion (Nicholas Duvernay) in a romantic encounter that was cut for pacing reasons. HBO and the actors have yet to respond to the proposal.
Why the Scene Was Cut
Creator Mike White revealed on The White Lotus Official Podcast that the scene showed Piper losing her virginity to Zion after a disastrous monastery visit. The moment was scripted to follow an earlier jab from her brother Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger), who mocked her for being a virgin.
“It would have added 10 minutes to the thing,” White explained. “It had a rom-com vibe in the middle of [Timothy] trying to kill the family with pong-pong fruits. It just felt like I was trying to do too much narratively.”
The 90-minute finale already packed murder plots and family drama, leaving no room for the lighter-toned scene.
CamSoda’s Bold Proposal
CamSoda’s VP Daryn Parker sent a formal offer to HBO Max, pledging $500,000 for the exclusive rights to air the deleted clip. The platform also offered $500,000 each to actors Hook and Duvernay to either:
- Host a live Q&A about the scene
- Reenact it on CamSoda
“Everyone wants to see what’s underneath the expensive dresses and uptight facade,” Parker wrote. “We know she’s hiding her inner freak and we want to unleash it.”
Fan Reactions and Context
The deleted scene tied into Piper’s arc of rebellion against her family. After abandoning her monastery plans, she impulsively decides to lose her virginity to Zion, Belinda’s son. While some fans called the cut “disappointing”, others agreed it would’ve clashed with the finale’s darker themes .
This isn’t the only scrapped moment. Other deleted scenes included:
- A tender final exchange between Rick (Walton Goggins) and Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood)
- Extended comedic bits about pickleball and beans among the female guests
- A subplot about Laurie’s (Carrie Coon) nonbinary child
HBO’s Next Steps
HBO has remained silent on CamSoda’s offer. Industry analysts note such proposals are rare but not unprecedented, as platforms increasingly capitalize on unused content from prestige shows.
