The season will consist of six episodes in total, with the remaining three episodes releasing weekly. The season finale is scheduled for November 28, 2025.

What Season 2 Is About
The new season dives into the aftermath of the first season’s dramatic finale. After a passionate night together in Oxford, Ruby’s future looks bright. However, a sudden tragedy in James’s family changes everything. James’s actions send Ruby’s world crashing down, leaving her heartbroken and desperate to return to her old life, away from the elite world of Maxton Hall.
“Ruby is devastated. She has never had such strong feelings for anyone as she does for James – and she has never been so hurt by anyone either,” the official show description reveals.
While Ruby tries to move on, James is determined to win her back. The season will follow their complicated journey as they navigate grief, betrayal, and their feelings for each other. Actress Harriet Herbig-Matten, who plays Ruby, shared that this season is about growth and change for the characters. She mentioned that her character is “going through her first heartbreak, and James is losing himself and who he is,” and that season two is about “changing, finding each other again, and healing.”
The Show’s Global Popularity
Since its debut in 2024, Maxton Hall has become a massive international hit for Prime Video. The first season earned the title of Prime Video’s most-watched International Original series ever, topping charts in over 120 countries. The series, based on the bestselling German novel trilogy Save Me by Mona Kasten, was already renewed for a third season before the second season even premiered.
The core cast, including Harriet Herbig-Matten as Ruby and Damian Hardung as James, returns for the new season. Supporting cast members like Sonja Weiรer as Lydia, Ben Felipe as Cyril, and Fedja van Huรชt as Mortimer also reprise their roles. Director Martin Schreier has returned to helm the second season.
The series is supported by the German Motion Picture Fund and is produced by UFA Fiction. Following the show’s success, Mona Kasten’s book trilogy is being translated into English and published in the United States for the first time.
