BTS member V, whose real name is Kim Taehyung, has shared a new vlog from his time in Los Angeles. The video shows him effortlessly climbing a thick rope during a beach jog, a moment that fans immediately connected to his recent service in South Korea’s elite military forces. The clip went viral online shortly after the video’s release on November 30.

V’s Los Angeles Vlog Captures Everyday Moments

The vlog, titled “V’s VLOG in Los Angeles,” was posted on the official BTS YouTube channel, Bangtan TV. The nearly 40-minute video documents Taehyung’s visit to Los Angeles for an appearance at Vogue World Hollywood in November 2025. It offers a personal look at his daily routines, including scenes of him having breakfast, working out, and sightseeing.

The footage shows a relaxed Taehyung jogging on a beach with his staff. During the run, he notices a rope set up near his path. Without hesitation, he approaches it and swiftly climbs it using only his arms, demonstrating significant upper-body strength and control. The vlog also includes a lighthearted moment of him dancing on a beach in Hawaii, teasing potential future content from that trip.

Fans Connect Rope Climbing to V’s Elite Military Service

Online reaction was swift, with fans praising the display of fitness and directly linking it to Taehyung’s military background. Many used the term “SDT Warrior Taehyung” to describe him, referencing the Special Duty Team of the Republic of Korea Army Military Police.

Taehyung enlisted for his mandatory service on December 11, 2023. After basic training, he was selected for the elite Special Duty Team (SDT) on February 8, 2024. This unit is known for handling high-risk operations. During his service, he consistently performed well in demanding drills.

“SDT Warrior Taehyung!!! He really embraced all the positive aspects of the military: the fitness regimes, the camaraderie.”

Fans on social media were impressed by the ease and technique of his climb, noting that most people use their legs to help, while he relied on his arms and core. Comments highlighted his strength, discipline, and the lasting impact of his training.
