Disney+ has announced all the details for the second season of its hit Australian original series, giving fans a concrete date to mark on their calendars and a first look at what’s in store for Jack Dawkins. The new season promises higher stakes, new characters, and the same sharp wit that made the first season a success.
The Artful Dodger Season 2 release date
The wait for new episodes has a definite end. All episodes of The Artful Dodger Season 2 will be released on Monday, February 10, 2026. The season will launch on Disney+ globally and will also be available on Hulu in the United States. Unlike some series that release weekly, the entire second season is expected to drop at once, allowing viewers to enjoy the full story without interruption.
The series was officially renewed for this second season in November 2024. Filming for the new season took place in Sydney, Australia, and wrapped ahead of this announcement.
What will happen in Season 2?
The official synopsis sets the stage for a tense and dangerous new chapter. Jack Dawkins is in serious trouble.
“Jack’s back! The Artful Dodger returns, and he’s in deep trouble. He’s got an appointment with the noose, he’s being hunted by Inspector Boxer, Port Victory’s new lawman, and if he sees the woman he loves, Lady Belle, he’ll be hanged.”
The story picks up with Jack facing a death sentence. His past crimes have caught up with him, and a new, determined inspector is on his trail. Making his situation even more difficult is a strict order that prohibits him from any contact with Lady Belle Fox, the governor’s daughter he fell for in Season 1.
Meanwhile, Lady Belle continues to pursue her dream of becoming a surgeon in a society that is against the idea. Her ambition pushes her into dangerous situations, all while she deals with her complicated feelings for Jack. The new inspector, Henry Boxer, isn’t just after Jack; he also becomes a rival for Belle’s attention, creating a tense love triangle.
As if that weren’t enough, Fagin once again pulls Jack into the criminal underworld, this time for what is described as their most dangerous heist yet. With a killer on the loose in Port Victory, the season is set to be explosive.
Who is in the Season 2 cast?
The core trio from the first season is returning. Thomas Brodie-Sangster reprises his role as Dr. Jack Dawkins, the Artful Dodger himself. David Thewlis is back as the cunning Norbert Fagin, and Maia Mitchell returns as the ambitious Lady Belle Fox.
They are joined by many familiar faces from Port Victory, including Susie Porter as Lady Jane Fox, Damien Garvey as Governor Fox, and Tim Minchin as the devious Darius Cracksworth. Lucy-Rose Leonard returns as Lady Fanny Fox, with Nicholas Burton as Dr. Sneed and Luke Carroll as hospital assistant Tim Billiberllary.
Season 2 also introduces several key new characters who will shake things up:
- Luke Bracey joins the cast as Inspector Henry Boxer, the new lawman determined to bring Jack to justice.
- Jeremy Sims plays Uncle Dickie, a new character whose role is still under wraps.

The series is a co-production between Disney+ and Curio Pictures, which is owned by Sony Pictures Television. The executive producers are Jo Porter and Rachel Gardner from Curio, alongside co-creator James McNamara, who also serves as the head writer. The directing team for the new season includes Ben Young, Ben C. Lucas, and Gracie Otto.
Fans eager for a sneak peek have been rewarded with first-look images released by Disney, showing the returning characters and introducing Inspector Boxer. While a full trailer is not yet available, these images confirm that production is complete and the series is on track for its 2026 debut.
