The cast for the second season of Netflix’s drama The Hunting Wives is expanding. Two new actors, Kim Matula and Alex FitzAlan, are joining the show as recurring guest stars. They will portray characters named Nadia Kelly and Lincoln Trout, respectively. This news comes as production on the new season is officially underway. The show’s original cast, including leads Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman, is set to return for another round of Texas-sized secrets and scandals.

Who Are the New Faces in Maple Brook?

Details about the new characters are being kept secret, but the actors’ past roles offer clues about what they might bring to the show.

Kim Matula is known for playing Hope Logan on the long-running CBS soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful. She has also starred in series like UnReal and L.A. to Vegas. More recently, she played comedian Jane Curtin in the 2024 film Saturday Night.

Alex FitzAlan is recognized for his roles as Harry in the Netflix series The Society and Seth in Amazon’s The Wilds. His film work includes appearances in Slender Man and the historical drama Chevalier.

Showrunner Rebecca Cutter said, “I’m so excited to write these amazing characters again, and I can’t wait to take the audience on another sexy, twisted, batshit crazy ride through Maple Brook”.

The Full Returning Cast for Season 2

The new actors will join a large group of returning stars. The main characters coming back are:

  • Brittany Snow as Sophie O’Neil
  • Malin Akerman as Margo Banks
  • Dermot Mulroney as Jed Banks, Margo’s husband
  • Jaime Ray Newman as Callie, Margo’s friend
  • Evan Jonigkeit as Graham O’Neil, Sophie’s husband
  • George Ferrier as Brad

The local law enforcement in Maple Brook will also be back. Karen Rodriguez and Hunter Emery return as Deputy Salazar and Deputy Flynn, now as series regulars. Branton Box will be back as Sheriff Jonny.

What Will Season Two Be About?

The official story description from Netflix sets the stage for more conflict. It states that at the start of the season, Sophie and Margo are on the outs. However, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they resume their dangerous games, the central question becomes: Are they the hunters or the hunted?.

This follows the intense events of the first season’s finale. The season ended with Sophie running over Margo’s brother, Kyle, and disposing of his body. Margo is expected to discover what happened, which will fuel her anger. The show will continue with an original story, as the first season already covered the plot of May Cobb’s novel.

Cutter has mentioned that the new season might begin after a short time jump and will likely focus on a brand new murder mystery.

Production Status and Release Plans

A specific release date has not been announced. Based on the production timeline for the first season, some predictions suggest the new episodes could arrive in late 2026 or early 2027. The season will consist of eight episodes and will be released globally as a Netflix series.
