The long wait for more of Hulu’s hit thriller Paradise is finally over. The show’s creator, Dan Fogelman, has officially confirmed that Season 2 will premiere on February 23, 2026. This major announcement was made directly to fans at the CCXP convention in Sรฃo Paulo, Brazil.
Fogelman shared the news during a special panel featuring star Sterling K. Brown and new cast member Shailene Woodley. Alongside the release date, the team debuted the very first teaser trailer and key art for the upcoming season, offering a first look at where the story goes after the massive cliffhanger that ended Season 1.
What Happens in Paradise Season 2?
The new season will split its story between two worlds. Sterling K. Brown’s character, Special Agent Xavier Collins, will venture outside the massive underground bunker known as Paradise. His mission is to search for his wife, Teri, who he believed had died in the catastrophic event known as “The Day”. The teaser shows Xavier discovering that people have survived in the world above, and he must learn how they made it through the last three years.
Meanwhile, back inside the bunker, life is not stable. With Xavier gone and the shocking events of the first season’s finale, the community’s social structure is breaking down. New secrets about the origins of the bunker city itself will start to come out, creating more conflict and mystery for the people living there.
The central tease of the new footage is a line from Julianne Nicholson’s character, Sinatra, who says, “It was never just about the bunker”. This suggests that the story’s conspiracy and scope are much larger than the survivors first realized.
Star Reactions and New Cast at CCXP
The atmosphere at the CCXP panel was energetic as Fogelman, Brown, and Woodley talked about the new season. Sterling K. Brown spoke about the themes Xavier will face, focusing on trust and human connection in a broken world.
“There is a part of me that has to trust and believe in the goodness of people. Right? To survive something you can only get through it together. If everybody’s scared at everybody all the time, then it’s just war. At some point in time you’ll have to come together and fight as a team”.
Shailene Woodley joins the cast for Season 2 in a recurring role. She is part of a group of notable guest stars that also includes the return of James Marsden as President Cal Bradford and Jon Beavers as Billy, despite their characters’ fates in Season 1. Other returning series regulars are Julianne Nicholson, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, and Krys Marshall.

Creator Dan Fogelman has previously stated that he has a precise plan for the series, envisioning it as a three-season story. The official synopsis for Season 2 states: “Xavier searches for Teri out in the world and learns how people survived the three years since The Day. Back in Paradise, the social fabric frays as the bunker deals with the aftermath of Season 1, and new secrets are uncovered about the city’s origins”.
