What Happened in the Fall Finale Episode “Lone Wolf”?
The episode began with the team investigating the murders of three s*x workers in a New York brownstone. What seemed like a serial killer case rapidly unfolded into something far worse. The agents discovered the victims were part of a scheme to steal key cards and credentials from city employees.
They soon realized these thefts were not random crimes but steps in a coordinated plan to attack the city’s infrastructure. The situation reached a critical point when a massive explosion, triggered by the suspects, destroyed a key part of New York’s fiber-optic network. This attack knocked out cell service, emergency communications, and law enforcement channels across the city.
With the team isolated and operating without contact, the personal stakes soared for Jubal. He learned the explosion happened near his son Tyler’s last known location. The first part of the finale ended with Jubal frantically searching the rubble and finding Tyler seriously injured and unconscious.
“I was in New York during 9/11โฆ to play those scenes and to sort of reflect on all those people’s experiencesโฆ it’s not something we take lightly,” Jeremy Sisto said about filming the intense disaster scenes.
The second hour of the finale followed the immediate aftermath. While Tyler received hospital treatment, Jubal, defying Isobel’s orders to stay with his family, pursued a suspect off the books. In a raw and unscripted moment, he applied extreme pressure to the suspect’s bullet wound to extract information, an act the actor confirmed was improvised. The team eventually thwarted a second, larger planned attack. The episode closed on a hopeful note as Tyler woke up and Jubal was left to grapple with the extreme actions he took while his son was in danger.
