The latest episode of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, titled “We Board the Princess Andromeda,” puts the young demigods directly in the path of their greatest enemy. After leaving Camp Half-Blood, Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson find themselves on a luxury cruise ship that is not what it seems, leading to a dangerous reunion and a dramatic escape that changes their quest.

The episode, which premiered on December 17, 2025, on Disney+, also follows Clarisse La Rue as she begins her official quest for the Golden Fleece, revealing new layers to her character.

A Trap on the High Seas

Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson board the Princess Andromeda with the help of Hermes, who provides them transport. The ship appears to be a normal cruise filled with vacationers, but Tyson’s heightened senses immediately detect something wrong. He warns Percy and Annabeth that he smells monsters everywhere.

Their suspicions are confirmed when they meet Alison Simms, a demigod daughter of Apollo who was seen attacking Grover in Percy’s vision. After a brief, friendly conversation, Alison’s true allegiance is revealed. Percy recognizes her as one of Luke’s followers, leading to a fight on the deck. Percy manages to send Alison overboard into the sea.

Searching Alison’s bag, Percy and Annabeth find a card marked with the symbol of Kronos. When connected to the television in their suite, the card plays a promotional video for the ship’s monstrous guests, revealing the terrible truth. Annabeth pieces it together, telling Percy, “It’s not just that Luke is here on the shipโ€ฆ the Princess Andromeda is his ship”.

Confrontation with Luke

The trio decides to find Luke, with Percy wanting to confront him and Annabeth hoping to capture and save him. However, their plan fails when Alisonโ€”having survived her fallโ€”returns and leads a group of monsters to capture them.

They are brought to Luke’s luxurious suite. The meeting is tense, with actor Charlie Bushnell showing Luke as a complex and charismatic leader. Annabeth is visibly hurt by his betrayal, and Luke adds to her pain by claiming she never truly knew their mutual friend Thalia.

Luke reveals his grand plan. He shows Percy and Annabeth a mysterious sarcophagus, explaining it holds the essence of the Titan Kronos. Luke’s goal is to use the Golden Fleece not just to heal Thalia’s tree, but to fully revive Kronos and overthrow the Olympian gods.

“Kronos’s world would not persecute monsters,” Luke argues, presenting his vision of a new golden age where demigods and monsters, all children of the gods, can live together.

He takes them on a tour to demonstrate, showing monsters and demigods training side-by-side. Percy even sees Tyson happily using his skills to help the monsters build something, seeming to feel a sense of belonging.

A Heroic Escape

Luke attempts to recruit Percy to his cause, suggesting that if Percy joined him, the war could end that very night. While Percy and Annabeth are distracted, Tyson is separated from them. Unbeknownst to Luke, Tyson has not been swayed. Using the materials he was given, he secretly built an explosive device.

The bomb detonates, creating chaos and a vital distraction. In the confusion, Tyson calmly removes his burning coat, and the trio makes a run for it. They escape the ship on a lifeboat, with Luke watching angrily from the deck as they flee. Percy uses a power granted by Hermes to control the winds, speeding them away from the Princess Andromeda as fast as possible.

Safe on the lifeboat, Percy asks Tyson why he built the bomb if he seemed happy with the monsters. Tyson’s simple, heartfelt answer defines his character: “A real hero stands up for everyone”. His loyalty to his brother and friend overruled any personal comfort.

The Weight of the Great Prophecy

The escape forces a major secret into the open. Throughout the episode, Percy has noticed Annabeth hiding something from him, related to what Chiron told her. They had even agreed on a code wordโ€””boon”โ€”for Annabeth to use if Percy was making a choice that went against his destiny.

Facing Luke, who taunted Percy about a prophecy he knew nothing about, broke Annabeth’s resolve. After their escape, she admits she can no longer keep the secret. She explains that Chiron only told her the core of the Great Prophecy, not the exact words.

She reveals to Percy that the prophecy states a child of the “Big Three” godsโ€”Zeus, Poseidon, or Hadesโ€”will become a powerful weapon upon turning sixteen. This demigod will make a single choice that will either preserve the age of the Olympian gods or destroy it forever.

Percy’s reaction is quiet and heavy. He tells Annabeth, “You were right. I wish I didn’t know”. The knowledge places an immense burden on his shoulders, reframing his entire journey.

Clarisse’s Solo Quest

Running parallel to Percy’s story is Clarisse’s official quest. The episode opens with her visiting the Oracle in the attic of the Big House. The experience is eerie, and she leaves looking shaken by what she heard. The Oracle gave her a cryptic prophecy: “You shall sail the iron ship with warriors of bone. You shall find what you seek and make it your own. But despair for your life entombed within stone. And failโ€ฆ”.

Despite this ominous warning, Clarisse chooses to embark on her quest alone, refusing to pick partners from camp. Outside camp, she is met by her father, Ares, played by Adam Copeland. Ares, impressed by her decision to go solo, provides her with a shipโ€”an ironclad he raised from the ocean floorโ€”and a crew of defeated warriors who owe him a debt.

However, Clarisse struggles to command respect from her undead crew. In a powerful moment at the episode’s end, she rallies them with a speech about redemption and changing their fates. She wins them over, but then discovers a major problem: the coordinates given to her by Tantalus are wrong. Her ship is heading for New Jersey, not the Sea of Monsters. Realizing Percy has the correct information, her quest becomes a race to find him.
