The countdown for ‘Euphoria’ Season 3 is almost over, and one of the biggest new additions is Hollywood icon Sharon Stone. With just days left until the show returns after a four-year break, Stone is finally opening up about her secret part in the new season.
The 67-year-old Oscar nominee is joining the famous HBO series as a powerful studio executive. But she is not just talking about her character. Stone recently shared strong opinions on modern sex scenes and gave a serious message to parents about watching the show with their teenagers.
Sharon Stone’s ‘Euphoria’ Season 3 Character Is a ‘Legendary’ Showrunner
‘Euphoria’ Season 3 takes a big jump forward. The story moves five years ahead, leaving high school behind. The characters are now adults dealing with bigger problems. Zendaya returns as Rue, Sydney Sweeney is back as Cassie, and Jacob Elordi plays Nate again.
Stone’s character runs a Hollywood studio. Maude Apatow’s character, Lexi, works as her assistant. HBO released the first look photo of Stone in February 2026. The picture shows her wearing an all-black suit, smirking while holding a pen at her desk. The famous Warner Bros. water tower is seen outside her window.
“There is little more exciting than going to work with this team of thrilling talent. From the genius of Sam Levinson to the raw sophistication of this profoundly moving cast and tight crew. I am honored to be Euphoric,” Stone said in a statement.
HBO’s Instagram account teased the character with a simple but strong caption: “She runs the show.” Stone replied with a red heart emoji, writing, “We’re so back.”
Sam Levinson, the show’s creator, confirmed that Lexi works as an assistant to a showrunner played by Stone. The trailer shows Stone’s character telling Lexi, “The network loved your storyline,” to which Lexi excitedly asks, “Really?!”
Stone Gives Strong Warning for Parents About ‘Euphoria’ Season 3
While promoting the new season, Stone appeared on CBS Mornings with anchor Gayle King. She did not hold back about who should be watching the show.
“I really think that all parents should see this show. It really is what is happening in this world,” Stone said.
‘Euphoria’ Season 3 arrives on April 12, 2026. The show is known for its raw look at drug addiction, mental health, and complicated relationships. Stone believes parents need to understand what teenagers face today.
The first two seasons followed Rue Bennett (Zendaya) as she struggled with addiction after leaving rehab. Her classmates dealt with breakups, substance abuse, and identity issues. Season 3 pushes these characters into adult life, with Rue now in Mexico working as a drug mule and Cassie becoming a cam girl.
Hollywood Legend Says Modern Sex Scenes Are Too ‘Blatant and Harsh’
Stone, who became famous for her role in ‘Basic Instinct’ in 1992, has a complicated history with on-screen nudity. Her famous interrogation scene in that movie became a cultural moment. But Stone now says television has gone too far with explicit content.
“So often now, when sex scenes come on TV, I fast-forward. I don’t want to see it. I don’t want to have to go through all of this blatant, harsh sexuality,” Stone explained.
She compared it to her own famous scene from over 30 years ago.
“It was a third of a frame, it wasn’t even an entire frame of film. And, so, people were desperately trying to figure it out. And I think that idea of, ‘Oh, my God.’ This hope, this wonder, this mystery, this intrigue, this yearning is something that is what all of our profound sexuality is based in.”
Stone added that explicit scenes steal from her own imagination.
“For me, it steals from my own imagination. And I prefer my yearning, mystery, desire. I want to keep that alive inside myself.”
New Trailer Shows More of Stone and Returning Cast
The final trailer for ‘Euphoria’ Season 3 dropped in late March 2026. It gave fans the best look yet at Stone’s character and what the rest of the cast is doing.
The trailer shows Rue (Zendaya) in serious danger. She is trafficking drugs for a Mexican cartel and gets caught. Nate (Jacob Elordi) has taken over his father Cal’s construction business, but his life is falling apart. His wife Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) is now a cam girl trying to reconnect with Maddy (Alexa Demie).
The trailer also includes the late Eric Dane in one of his final roles. Dane, who played Nate’s father Cal, passed away in February 2026 at age 53 after fighting ALS. The scene shows Cal meeting Jules (Hunter Schafer) at a bar. Jules asks, “Remember me?” Cal replies, “How could I forget?”
Other new faces joining ‘Euphoria’ Season 3 include singer Rosalía, Danielle Deadwyler, Eli Roth, Natasha Lyonne, and NFL star Marshawn Lynch.
