BLACKPINK’s Jisoo is preparing to make her solo comeback with the album “AMORTAGE,” but the tracklist has become a point of discussion among fans. While excitement for new music from Jisoo is high, the revelation that the album will only contain four songs has left some BLINKs feeling a bit underwhelmed.
A Short but Sweet Offering
“AMORTAGE” is set to be released on February 14th in partnership with Warner Records. However, the album’s concise tracklist, totaling just 12 minutes and 14 seconds, has surprised fans. This is a shorter offering compared to the debut albums of other BLACKPINK members like Rosé, Lisa, and Jennie, which featured between 12 and 15 tracks. Given the time elapsed since Jisoo’s previous solo release, some fans had hoped for a more extensive collection of songs.
Jisoo’s solo debut single album “ME” in March 2023, featuring “Flower” and “All Eyes On Me,” was well-received, with “Flower” achieving global success. Despite the limited number of tracks, the album made a significant impact. This time around, many anticipated a more substantial release.
More Music on the Horizon
Despite the shorter tracklist for “AMORTAGE,” fans can look forward to more music from Jisoo in the future. She has indicated that she is already working on her next album, which she promises will include more songs. Jisoo personally curated the tracks for “AMORTAGE,” selecting songs that fit the album’s specific theme and concept. She intends for fans to experience the music as a cohesive and complete journey.
Juggling Music and Acting
Unlike other BLACKPINK members, Jisoo has been actively involved in various acting projects alongside her music career. She has recently worked on two dramas and a film. Her upcoming zombie-comedy film Newtopia will premiere on Coupang Play on February 7th, and her big-screen debut in Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint is scheduled for release in the summer of 2025. Her drama Boyfriend on Demand is also expected to air later this year. These acting commitments have presented challenges for Jisoo in dedicating time to her solo music. However, she has reassured fans that she is committed to releasing more music in the future.
A Busy Schedule for BLACKPINK
Following Jisoo’s release, Lisa is expected to release her full-length album ALTER EGO on February 28th, and Jennie’s solo comeback is slated for March 7th. After their individual promotions, a BLACKPINK group comeback is anticipated in May 2025.
Jisoo Launches Her Own App
Jisoo has launched her own mobile application, simply titled “JISOO,” available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The app’s exact purpose is unclear, but fans speculate that it could be a platform for updates, exclusive content, album sales, or a schedule tracker for Jisoo’s activities.
