Puerto Rican reggaeton star Daddy Yankee, whose real name is Ramon Luis Ayala Rodriguez, has filed a legal complaint against his estranged wife, Mireddys González, accusing her of unauthorized withdrawals totaling $100 million from his business accounts. The allegations come during the couple’s ongoing divorce proceedings.

Legal Allegations

According to court documents obtained by Billboard, Daddy Yankee claims that González withdrew $80 million from his El Cartel Records account and another $20 million from his Los Cangros account. González, who served as the CEO of both of the record labels, is accused of taking these funds after Yankee had already revoked her authority to manage his businesses.

Furthermore, the rapper states that Ayeicha González Castellanos, González’s sister, was also involved in the financial dealings, holding the position of secretary/treasurer at the labels.

Yankee’s filing specifies that he had formally warned the sisters not to conduct any transactions on behalf of his businesses, yet the withdrawals occurred despite these instructions. He also claims he has been deprived of access to critical information about his financial dealings and corporate operations, asserting that he is entitled to these details as the rightful owner.

Requests for Immediate Action

In response to these allegations, Daddy Yankee is seeking the court’s assistance in immediately removing Mireddys González and Ayeicha González Castellanos from any roles within his companies. Additionally, he has requested that they return any information or documents they may have wrongfully withheld.

The Grammy-winning artist also accused González and her sister of exceeding their authorized power over El Cartel Records, which he claims resulted in poor decision-making that has damaged the company’s operations. He further alleges that the sisters failed to meet the legal requirements for corporate governance, disregarded necessary formalities, and made questionable financial choices.

Sale of Music Catalog

One of the key points raised in the complaint is the alleged sale of Daddy Yankee’s music catalog to Concord. The artist claims that González facilitated the sale by hiring a third-party representative for El Cartel, without consulting him or providing him with the contract details. According to Yankee, the catalog was sold for a significantly lower price than it was worth, and he remains unaware of the full extent of the transaction or the limitations it may impose on his music.

The couple, who first met in high school, married in 1995 and have two children together: Jesaaelys, 28, and Jeremy, 26. Daddy Yankee is also a father to a daughter, Yamilet, from a previous relationship.

Earlier in December 2024, Daddy Yankee publicly announced their separation, explaining that despite his efforts to save their marriage, he ultimately chose to respect González’s decision to file for divorce.

The legal dispute is unfolding against the backdrop of Daddy Yankee’s retirement from music. In December 2023, the artist revealed his decision to step away from the industry to focus on his faith and serve God. The situation remains unresolved, with Mireddys González and her sister yet to publicly respond to the claims.
