The Yellowstone story is not over. Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser return as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler in Dutton Ranch, a new spin-off series that continues directly from where the main show ended. The show moves the action from Montana to South Texas, where the couple tries to build a new life away from the family drama of the past.
Dutton Ranch premieres on May 15, 2026, with a special two-episode launch. The first season has nine episodes total, releasing weekly through early July. Here is everything you need to know about when to watch, where to stream, and what to expect from this new chapter.

The Dutton Ranch release date is set for Friday, May 15, 2026. The show drops its first two episodes together on that day, giving fans a double dose of the Western drama right from the start. After the premiere, one new episode arrives each Friday until the season finishes.
The season finale is scheduled for July 3, 2026. This weekly release pattern spreads the nine-episode season across roughly two months, keeping viewers coming back each week rather than releasing everything at once.

What Is Dutton Ranch About? Beth and Rip’s Texas Move
Dutton Ranch picks up right after the Yellowstone finale. The original show ended in late 2024 with the Dutton family losing control of the Yellowstone Ranch. Beth and Rip left Montana to start fresh elsewhere. This new series follows them as they try to build a life on a ranch in South Texas.
The official synopsis explains that Beth and Rip fight to build a future together, far from the ghosts of Yellowstone. But they quickly run into trouble. They clash with a ruthless rival ranch that will stop at nothing to protect its empire. In South Texas, blood runs deeper, forgiveness is fleeting, and the cost of survival might just be your soul.
Their adopted son, Carter, played by Finn Little, moves with them. Part of the story focuses on Beth and Rip helping Carter become the man he is supposed to be while dealing with their own challenges.

The Dutton Ranch cast brings back beloved faces from Yellowstone while adding some major new names. Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser lead the show as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler. Finn Little returns as Carter, the young man they took in during Yellowstone season 4.
The new cast members include Oscar nominees Annette Bening and Ed Harris. Bening plays Beulah Jackson, described as a powerful, cunning and charming head of a major Texas ranch. Harris takes on the role of a good-humored veterinarian who treats animals with care and understanding.
Other new faces joining the Dutton Ranch cast are Jai Courtney, Marc Menchaca, Natalie Alyn Lind, Juan Pablo Raba, and J.R. Villarreal.

Where Dutton Ranch Fits in the Yellowstone Franchise
Dutton Ranch is the first direct sequel series in the Yellowstone universe. Other spin-offs like 1883 and 1923 are prequels that tell stories from the past. Marshals, which came out earlier in 2026, follows Kayce Dutton but works more as a separate spin-off. Dutton Ranch continues the main story line with the same characters and picks up where the original left off.
Taylor Sheridan, the creator of Yellowstone, serves as an executive producer on Dutton Ranch. Chad Feehan works as the showrunner and also executive produces the series. Reilly and Hauser have also joined as executive producers for this new show.
The series was filmed in Texas, including locations in and around Fort Worth. This gives the show a different visual feel from the Montana setting of Yellowstone while keeping its Western roots intact.
