At the same time, Ethan thinks he can talk to his dead brother, Thomas, using a broken radio. This reinforces the idea that the town sits on a thin line between two realities. The Lake of Tears might be the spot where that line is weakest.
Another theory suggests the town is shaped like a fish bowl—a sphere with no straight exit. Victor has a drawing of a fish bowl with a spider on top. Fans believe the spider represents the Man in Yellow (the show’s main villain), and the opening of the bowl is the way out.
