Bollywood actor Govinda has publicly responded to his wife Sunita Ahuja after she called him a “sugar daddy” and made sharp remarks about his alleged closeness with his Roopa co-star Komal Rani Swarnkar. In a video statement shared on August 15, 2026, the actor warned Sunita to “stay within her limits” and claimed that a “group and gang” is backing her. During a paparazzi interaction in Mumbai on August 14, Sunita Ahuja made a series of blunt statements about Govinda and his association with Komal Rani Swarnkar. She questioned the actor’s decision to be seen with a woman she described as being around the same age as their daughter, Tina, who is 35.
“He is going around with a girl who is the same age as his daughter; shame on him.”
Sunita also took a sarcastic swipe at Komal’s appearance, saying:
“Your sugar daddy is so rich. Dress properly. Just look at our style.”
She further remarked, “Very bad, he’s lost his mind”. Sunita also questioned the timing of the film’s promotional activities, saying, “First of all, the movie should be made. Promotion happens after the movie is complete”.
This is not the first time Sunita has spoken publicly about Govinda’s alleged affairs. Earlier this year, she had claimed that Komal was seeking a “sugar daddy” and allegedly blackmailing Govinda. She had also said, “I hate that name Komal,” while discussing the affair rumours.
Govinda Hits Back: ‘You Are Leaving No Stone Unturned to Defame Me’
In a video shared on August 15, Govinda addressed Sunita directly and defended himself against her allegations. He accused her of interfering with his work and claimed that she had previously sought his participation in her own projects.
Govinda said that when Sunita was working on her cooking show (Laughter Chefs) and Lock Upp, she asked him to appear on both shows through their daughter Tina. He said that was her right, but now that he has started a new film, she is trying to damage his reputation.
“Now that I have started this film, you are not leaving any chance for me to get out of people’s hearts, to be defamed, or to lose my business.”
He also asked Sunita not to humiliate people from modest backgrounds who are trying to make a career in the film industry.
“When people from poor families come to the film industry, don’t humiliate them so much that they run away, they get scared. You have the ability, you have the strength, fame, respect, wealth, everything is given by God. It doesn’t mean that you should humiliate those who don’t have it. It doesn’t suit you.”
Govinda Defends Working with Younger Actresses
Addressing Sunita’s comments about his age and his pairing with younger actresses, Govinda pointed to the long-standing practice of established actors sharing the screen with younger performers.
“All the great artistes of the country have worked with all those girls who were youngsters. They got good films, fame and respect. And they got a chance to work with young people. That’s why this young man was seen. You don’t want me to look like a young man.”
He added that such collaborations have helped both actors and actresses get opportunities and have allowed senior actors to appear more youthful on screen.
Govinda Warns Sunita: ‘Stay Within Your Limits’
Govinda’s message became increasingly firm as he warned against what he described as a campaign of public insults and criticism. He claimed that a group was working against him and said that the truth about them would eventually come out.
“The group behind you, the gang, everyone is familiar with them. And I think that familiarity will come forward a lot. So it won’t suit you either.”
He then directly appealed to Sunita:
“Aapke peeche jo group aur gang hai usse sabhi waqif hain aur voh jaldi khulke aage aajayegi. Aur aage bhi aapko shayad meri zarurat pad sakti hai toh aap kripya aise bayan deke aur yeh podcast chalake beizzati kiye jaa rahi hain, aap thoda sa apni hadh mein rahiye (Everyone is aware of the group and gang behind you, and they will soon come out in the open. You may need me in the future as well, so please stop making such statements and running this podcast to humiliate me. Please know your limits).”
Govinda Objects to Sunita’s Use of Abusive Language
After making his initial statement, Govinda returned to make another point. He criticised Sunita for allegedly using abusive language involving mothers and sisters.
“Sunita ji, you have started using a lot of abusive language especially on mother and sister.”
He warned that such behaviour could influence younger people and eventually invite similar responses towards her.
“Youngsters expect you to behave in a way that they will follow it. So, if people start abusing your mother and sister, then we will all be very embarrassed. Don’t do this.”
Govinda also said, “Sasta kar diya hai yeh ma-behen ka naam (You have made the names of mothers and sisters cheap)”. He made it clear that he did not expect such behaviour from Sunita Ahuja.
