“They should sue themselves…
HYBE recently announced that they would be suing viral YouTubers who post malicious content about their artists. Namely, they have begun legal proceedings against four main YouTube channels that have been focusing their videos on negative content about K-Pop artists. In particular, LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT have been the target of many such videos for their live singing controversy, plagiarism controversy, and more. A channel which discussed the rumored links between HYBE and the Dahn World Cult was also taken action against. In addition, it was reported that HYBE also filed an order in the United States to get permission to receive the personal information about a channel who had posted slanderous videos against NewJeans.
Despite their valiant efforts to protect their artists, netizens have been calling them out for their hypocrisy. In the highly-publicized feud between ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin and HYBE, it was made known that HYBE had allegedly given content to one such YouTuber. Former entertainment reporter Lee Jin Ho operates a controversial news channel on YouTube. Back then, HYBE had reportedly handed screenshots of Min Hee Jin’s personal KakaoTalk messages to him after they were rejected in court.
As such, netizens did not take kindly to HYBE’s latest course of action.
- How dare they after giving materials to such YouTube channels?
- Are you not going to sue Belift Lab’s channel?
- Are they suing themselves?
- LOL.
- So they’re gonna sue Belift Lab, right?
- What about Sojang? Pann? DC?
- Take down the video criticizing NewJeans instead, pathetic HYBE.
- LOL.
- The very ones who gave internal information to such channels?
In addition to allegedly providing YouTube channels with Min Hee Jin’s personal information, Belift Lab also recently released a video which addressed ILLIT’s plagiarism controversy. The video contained criticism towards NewJeans and Min Hee Jin as well, leading many to criticize HYBE for their hypocrisy.
