The debut episode takes fans inside a special reunion trip to Scotland with members of the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers championship team. The group gathered at Castle Stuart Golf Links at Cabot Highlands to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of their historic NBA title win.

The first video runs about 90 minutes and follows James and his former teammates as they play golf, share stories, and enjoy each other’s company. Former Cavaliers players featured in the episode include Kevin Love, J.R. Smith, Richard Jefferson, Tristan Thompson, and Channing Frye. Notably, Kyrie Irving did not attend the trip due to other commitments.

The group played a three-on-three scramble match at the Scottish course. James teamed up with Love and Jefferson against Smith, Frye, and Thompson. The video includes plenty of trash talk, wine, and funny moments from their time together in Cleveland.

Channing Frye had some fun at James’ expense during the round. He remixed James’ famous “Cleveland, this is for you!” declaration from the championship celebration. Thompson arrived with almost no golf experience, which added to the humor of the day.

James opened up about what the trip meant to him and why he wanted to share it with fans.

“I’m looking forward to people seeing this first episode, which was the trip of a lifetime with my teammates. We got to play golf and catch up in some of the most beautiful settings I’ve ever been in.”

The Scotland trip marked a decade since the Cavaliers made history. James and his team came back from a 3-1 deficit against the Golden State Warriors in the 2016 NBA Finals. They became the first team to complete such a comeback in the Finals and brought Cleveland its first championship.

James also shared his thoughts on how golf has become an important part of his life.

“Golf has given me the challenge I need as a competitor. Just having a lot of fun, learning the game, practicing and playing as much as I can.”

He revealed that he currently has a handicap around 22.

New Golf Channel Will Release Episodes Monthly on Saturdays

The YouTube channel will release new episodes every month on Saturdays. Each episode will show James playing golf at different courses around the world, eating at local restaurants, and having fun with friends.

LeBron James Opens Up About His Growing Love for Golf

James has become more open about his passion for golf in recent months. He spoke about it on his podcast “Mind The Game” with Steve Nash.

“The golf bug is real. I’ve heard about the bug for so many years and I was like, ‘Well, it’s not going to get me. I don’t like golf at all. Who wants to be outside all day walking around?’ Nah, it’s real. I am into it. My algorithm on social media, every other post, every other video, is some type of golf video now.”

He has installed a golf simulator in his home and even starred in a Nike x Beats commercial with PGA Tour professional Tom Kim. James said golf provides the competitive challenge he needs while also serving as an escape.

“It’s unbelievably challenging, but it’s also an escape. It brings me a sense of calm while also fulfilling my drive for competition. I’m just mad it took me 40 years to find it.”

James also hopes his presence in golf can help introduce more inner-city kids to the sport. He believes golf has not always been easily accessible to young people from urban areas and wants to change that.

The YouTube channel adds another piece to James’ growing entertainment portfolio. He and business partner Maverick Carter founded SpringHill Entertainment in 2007. It became part of the SpringHill Company in 2020. Last year, SpringHill Company merged with British television and film production house Fulwell 73.

Rory McIlroy, the reigning Masters champion and world No. 2, recently joked about James’ golf game. When asked which celebrity he would give a golf lesson to, McIlroy said:

“I would say LeBron. LeBron’s really gotten into golf and he’s the most unbelievably gifted athlete, but it doesn’t look like it when he’s on the golf course. I’d love to give him a lesson.”

James recently signed a two-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers after leaving the Los Angeles Lakers. He is preparing for his 24th professional NBA season. During the recruitment process, private country clubs in the Philadelphia area offered free memberships to the basketball superstar.

The first episode of LeBron James’ YouTube golf channel is now available to watch. Fans can subscribe to the channel to catch new episodes arriving every month on Saturdays.
