Channel A’s upcoming romantic comedy “Marry YOU” is generating excitement with a fresh look at the heartfelt bond between Lee Yi Kyung and his on-screen niece and nephew, bringing humor and warmth to this family-centered story.
Plot and Characters
Set on a peaceful island, “Marry YOU” follows Bong Chul Hee (played by Lee Yi Kyung), a single man whose ultimate life goal is to get married. Despite his goal, he finds himself tasked with raising his young niece and nephew, adding a unique twist to his character. Jo Soo Min co-stars as Jung Ha Na, a Level 7 civil servant with strong convictions about remaining single. However, her career lands her in the unexpected position of helping Bong Chul Hee find a spouse, even though she firmly opposes marriage herself.
Bong Chul Hee’s mysterious but endearing personality, combined with his responsibility for his niece and nephew, creates an interesting blend of humor and affection. This dynamic is expected to bring light-hearted yet meaningful moments to the series, contrasting with Jung Ha Na’s determination to avoid relationships.
Adorable Family Chemistry Shown in Sneak Peek
In new stills released ahead of the premiere, Bong Chul Hee is pictured alongside his twin niece and nephew, Bong Ba Da (played by Ahn Tae Rin) and Bong San Yi (played by Seo Woo Jin). The trio is dressed in matching vibrant sweaters, each carrying a suitcase, and their cheerful walk together radiates the charm of a close-knit family. The playful setup captures the trio as they stroll down a sidewalk, almost as if they’re on a runway, highlighting the close bond they share despite the unusual family circumstances.
The heartwarming on-screen chemistry between Lee Yi Kyung and the young actors has also drawn attention. The production team for “Marry YOU” noted the natural connection that was evident from the very first shoot.
“From their very first shoot, Lee Yi Kyung, Ahn Tae Rin, and Seo Woo Jin’s fantastic chemistry had the crew in awe. We’re confident that Bong Chul Hee’s family’s chemistry is one of the elements of our drama that you won’t want to miss,” shared the production team.
