BLACKPINK‘s Lisa has shared a closer look at the choreography for her new single “SaWaDiKa.” The dance performance video arrived on September 12 KST, giving fans a full view of the sharp moves and cool formations she created with her backup dancers. The video follows the song’s massive success, as “SaWaDiKa” recently became the fastest music video of 2026 to pass 100 million views on YouTube.
What The New Dance Video Shows
The dance performance video puts the focus entirely on the movement. Lisa performs the track’s choreography alongside a group of dancers, showing the full routine that fans only saw in pieces in the official music video. The video highlights the precise formations and the energy that Lisa brings to the stage, which has been a key part of the song’s appeal.
The choreography itself includes a gesture inspired by the wai, the traditional Thai greeting made by bringing the palms together. This detail ties the dance directly to the song’s title, which comes from “Sawasdee ka,” a Thai greeting.
The Song That Started It All
“SaWaDiKa” was released on September 4, 2026, as a pre-release single from Lisa’s upcoming solo EP, “PRESS PLAY”. The song marks Lisa’s return to her rap roots, with hard-charging verses and a bass-heavy beat produced by Thom Bridges.
The music video, directed by Bang Jae Yeob, was shot in Lisa’s native Bangkok, Thailand. It features several iconic locations across the city, including Hua Lamphong railway station, the Soi Charoen Khet 1 neighborhood, and the Dib Bangkok art museum. The visual also includes Thai cultural elements like Muay Thai boxing, tuk-tuks, and Chula kites.
Lisa’s performance in the video mixes high-fashion looks with action-ready outfits, including a red leather bodysuit with boxing shorts that have the song’s title in rhinestones across the waist. The song’s opening lines set the tone for the track’s confident energy:
“Hello Sawadika/ Yeah you know my wrist is cold/ Got this timepiece from Geneva/ If you know it then you know”
Record-Breaking Views And Fan Support
The “SaWaDiKa” music video pulled in more than 70 million YouTube views in its first 24 hours. The World Music Awards also reported that the video reached No. 1 on worldwide YouTube trending.
Lisa shared behind-the-scenes photos on her Instagram account, @lalalalisa_m, along with a message thanking everyone involved in the project. She wrote:
“It’s been one day since SaWaDiKa is released to the world!! From Thailand to Korea to LA, it took a whole village to bring this to life, so a huge Thank you to every single person that was involved. And also shoutout to Lilies for supporting and loving SaWaDiKa. I truly cannot do this without you guys and excited to show you everything coming up. [Khob Khun Ka]”
She signed off with the Thai words “Khob Khun Ka,” which means “Thank you”.
A Design Controversy That Got Resolved
The song’s release also brought a brief controversy. London-based Syrian artist Zeina claimed on social media that the “SaWaDiKa” video’s creative team used her original “coined headphone” design without giving her credit. The accessory in question was a golden headphone piece worn by Lisa in the video.
Zeina later posted an update saying that visual artist Nanist contacted her a few hours after she raised the issue. Nanist recognized her contribution and credited her in the inspiration sketches for the coined headphone concept. The situation was settled through direct communication between the artists.

“SaWaDiKa” is just the first taste of what Lisa has planned for the rest of 2026. Her “PRESS PLAY” EP is set to arrive on October 23, 2026, and will contain six tracks.
Lisa also has a feature documentary called “Always Lalisa” coming to IMAX and select cinemas worldwide on October 12, 2026, before streaming on YouTube Premium. The film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, 2026.
In November, Lisa will perform her “Viva La Lisa” residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The shows are scheduled for November 13, 14, 27, and 28, making her the first K-pop artist to have a Las Vegas residency.
