BLACKPINK member Lisa has done something special for her latest solo single ‘SaWaDiKa’. She invited her Thai fans to appear as backup dancers in the music video. The fans who took part in the shoot have now shared their experience on social media, revealing how they went from being supporters to performing alongside their idol.
The ‘SaWaDiKa’ music video dropped on September 3, 2026. It quickly broke records, crossing 70 million views on YouTube within its first 24 hours. By September 6, the video had already surpassed 100 million views. The track serves as the lead single from Lisa’s upcoming EP ‘PRESS PLAY’, which is set to arrive on October 23, 2026.
Lisa Chose Her Own Supporters for the Music Video Shoot
Lisa filmed the ‘SaWaDiKa’ music video across multiple locations in Bangkok, Thailand. She wanted to include people from her home country in the project. Instead of hiring professional dancers from outside, she brought in Thai fans—many of whom regularly create dance covers of her songs.
The fans who participated later posted videos on TikTok showing their journey from being selected to performing in the official music video. They shared behind-the-scenes moments and explained how they got the opportunity to dance alongside the K-pop star.
Lisa made sure to give proper credit to everyone involved. The music video credits include the entire Thai team—from dancers to water crew, food staff, security, and medical personnel.
A Love Letter to Thai Culture
‘SaWaDiKa’ takes its name from the traditional Thai greeting ‘Sawasdee ka’, which women use to say hello. The music video is packed with Thai elements. Viewers can spot tuk-tuks, Muay Thai-inspired outfits, and the wai gesture—where people press their palms together as a sign of respect.
Lisa filmed at historic locations including Hua Lamphong railway station, Soi Ngam Duphli, Soi Chaloem Khreng 1, and the DIB Bangkok museum. These spots showcase both the old and new sides of the Thai capital.
This is not the first time Lisa has highlighted her roots. She previously filmed the ‘ROCKSTAR’ music video on Yaowarat Road in Bangkok’s Chinatown. Reports from that time said she paid shop owners more than a month’s salary to close their stores during the shoot. In January 2026, she was officially named an ambassador for Amazing Thailand, promoting the country’s tourism.

Social media users have praised Lisa for including her supporters in such a meaningful way. Many called her move a sign of respect for her home country. Thai fans especially felt proud seeing their fellow citizens appear in a globally watched music video.
Some online commenters pointed out that Lisa continues to celebrate her Thai identity in her music. The song’s lyrics include Thai phrases like “geng mak” (very good) and references to the baht currency. She also raps about Bangkok directly with the line “Bang bang Bangkok bang”.
Lisa herself thanked her fans and the production team. On her Instagram account, @lalalalisa_m, she posted behind-the-scenes photos and wrote:
“It’s been one day since SaWaDiKa is released to the world!! From Thailand to Korea to LA, it took a whole village to bring this to life, so a huge Thank you to every single person that was involved. And also shoutout to Lilies for supporting and loving SaWaDiKa. I truly cannot do this without you guys and excited to show you everything coming up. Khob Khun Ka.”
The music video was directed by Bang Jae Yeob, who has previously worked on videos for aespa, IVE, NCT 127, and Stray Kids. Lisa worked as a composer and lyricist on the track, collaborating with Mark Williams, Raul Cubina, Rachel West, and Danny Chung.
The single is available on streaming platforms including Spotify.
