Director-turned-actor Lokesh Kanagaraj has achieved a massive milestone with his first lead role. His debut film ‘DC’ has collected over ₹100 crore globally within two weeks of its release. The action-thriller, directed by Arun Matheswaran, hit theaters on August 7, 2026, and has been performing strongly at the box office ever since.

The production house Sun Pictures officially announced the achievement on social media. They shared a poster of Lokesh Kanagaraj holding a gun with the text “Massive blockbuster. 100+ crores worldwide gross”. The actor reshared the post and expressed his gratitude, writing, “All this love… forever grateful”. His co-star Wamiqa Gabbi also shared the news on her Instagram Stories with a simple “Thank you”.

‘DC’ Box Office Collection Breakdown

The film’s box office numbers show a steady rise since its opening day. According to the trade website Sacnilk, ‘DC’ collected ₹61.54 crore net and ₹70.85 crore gross in India so far. The overseas markets contributed ₹21.85 crore, bringing the total worldwide gross to ₹92.70 crore in 14 days.

On its first day, the film opened with a net collection of ₹4.10 crore in India and a worldwide gross of ₹5.70 crore. The numbers grew significantly over the opening weekend. Day 2 brought in ₹7 crore, and Day 3 added ₹9.55 crore. By the end of its first week, the India net collection had reached ₹41.90 crore.

The second week saw continued earnings. Day 8 collected ₹2.86 crore, Day 9 brought ₹5.50 crore, and Day 10 added ₹4.50 crore. The film maintained its momentum despite a natural decline in daily collections during weekdays.

On Day 14, the film earned an estimated ₹1.23 crore net in India, with a 25.5% drop from the previous day. The Tamil version remained the bigger contributor, collecting ₹82 lakh from 1,159 shows, while the Telugu version added ₹41 lakh from 668 shows.

‘DC’ marks Lokesh Kanagaraj’s first appearance as a lead actor. The filmmaker, known for directing hits like Vikram, Leo, and Coolie, stepped in front of the camera for this project.
