The Korean Business Research Institute has revealed the latest brand reputation rankings for film actors in February. The rankings are based on various factors such as consumer participation, media coverage, interaction, and community awareness of 50 popular movie stars from January 12 to February 12.
Ma Dong Seok dominates the rankings with his upcoming films
The actor who topped the list this month is none other than Ma Dong Seok, who is also known as Don Lee in Hollywood. The star of Train to Busan and The Outlaws has a whopping brand reputation index of 5,621,048, which is a 131.53 percent increase from his previous score in January. Ma Dong Seok has been making headlines with his upcoming films, such as Badland Hunters, which will premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival, and Marvel’s The Eternals, which is set to be released later this year. Some of the keywords that were associated with him in the analysis were “success”, “release”, and “attend”. Moreover, he received a high positivity-negativity ratio of 89.53 percent, indicating that most of the public’s reactions to him were positive.
Im Siwan and Go Yoon Jung rise to the second and third spots respectively
Following Ma Dong Seok, Im Siwan and Go Yoon Jung secured the second and third spots in the rankings, with brand reputation indexes of 4,883,853 and 3,812,536 respectively. Im Siwan, who is also a member of the idol group ZE:A, showed a 21.33 percent increase in his score since January, thanks to his recent film Run On, which was well-received by the viewers. Go Yoon Jung, who made her debut in the hit drama Extracurricular, also saw a 4.22 percent increase in her score since last month, as she is preparing for her new film The Witch: Part 2.
Na Moon Hee and Honey Lee complete the top five
The veteran actress Na Moon Hee ranked fourth in the list, with a brand reputation index of 3,757,762. She is currently starring in the comedy film Samjin Company English Class, which depicts the struggles of three female employees in a male-dominated company in the 1990s. Honey Lee, who was the first place in January, dropped to the fifth spot this month, with a brand reputation index of 3,726,620. She is still enjoying the popularity of her film The Soul-Mate, which was released in 2018, and is also gearing up for her next project, Pipeline, which is a thriller about oil thieves.
