The first three episodes of The Traitors Season 2 have arrived, and the Karan Johar-hosted reality show already delivered major drama. Comedian and rapper Munawar Faruqui, who won Bigg Boss 17, became one of the first contestants to be voted out. His elimination did not go quietly. He strongly reacted and called out his fellow contestants for targeting him right from the start.
The reality series, which streams on Prime Video, brings together 21 celebrity contestants in a game of deception, trust, and betrayal. Within the opening episodes, four contestants were eliminated, including veteran actor Dalip Tahil, magician Karan Singh Magic, and Harman Singha. But it was Munawar’s exit that created the biggest buzz.
Munawar Faruqui Voted Out in the First Circle of Shaq
The trouble began during the first Circle of Shaq, a key moment in the show where contestants gather to confront each other and vote out someone they suspect is a traitor. Munawar openly named actor Mallika Sherawat as his pick for the traitor. But instead of his guess gaining support, several contestants turned against him. They accused him of playing like a traitor and voted him out.
Munawar ended up receiving the highest number of votes, which meant his journey on the show ended quickly. The actual traitors in the game were later revealed to be Aaditya Kulshreshth (also known as Kullu), Krystle D’Souza, and Harman Singha. In the second episode, Shahneel Gill was recruited as the fourth traitor.
Munawar Faruqui’s Emotional Reaction After Elimination
When host Karan Johar asked Munawar to reveal whether he was a traitor or an innocent, the comedian did not hold back. He appeared emotional and let out his frustration.
“F* off, guys! I was playing the game! I wanted to play it well! I am an innocent! F* off, insecure bunch of people. They thought I would eat them up here. They are all scared. Now recognise who is the one amongst you.”
Before that outburst, Munawar walked to the center of the room and shared his feelings about being targeted. He said he had expected this outcome.
“I had expected this to happen to me. I knew I would have to face it. This often happens to me. It is not the first time. This is not the first time that I have been targeted. Call me a soft target or someone too good to be there. I can clearly see through the insecurities of other people, and you will see how end up looking. Because your insecurities will be visible. You approached me as a friend and heard me out, but now you wrote my name here. Thank you for that.”
Why Did Contestants Target Munawar Faruqui?
Several contestants saw Munawar Faruqui as a major threat. His reputation as a strategic player from previous reality shows made others nervous. One contestant, Prish, openly admitted that he wanted Munawar out of the game no matter what.
“Mujhe Munawar ko game se bahar nikalna hai, jaise taise kar ke, mere ko ni farak padta woh traitor hai ya innocent hai, kyunki woh bahut smart player hai, woh as a traitor to bahut he acha khelange but as a innocent also woh sabko khatam kar ke jayange so mujhe woh game se bahar chiyea (I want to get Munawar out of the game, by any means necessary. It doesn’t matter to me whether he is a Traitor or an Innocent; he is a very smart player. He would play exceptionally well as a Traitor, but even as an Innocent, he would eliminate everyone else—so I need him out of the game).”
This comment showed that the other players were not just suspicious of Munawar’s gameplay. They were afraid of his ability to dominate the competition. Munawar Faruqui picked up on this fear and called them out for their insecurity.
Other Eliminations in The Traitors Season 2
Munawar was not the only one to leave early. The first three episodes also saw the exit of three other contestants.
Dalip Tahil, who made his reality TV debut with this show, became the first person to be eliminated. In the opening task, contestants had to secretly distribute gold coins among themselves. Dalip’s attempt to stand out backfired, and he received the lowest number of coins, leading to his elimination.
On the very first night, magician Karan Singh Magic became the first murder victim of the traitors. Harman Singha, who was actually one of the real traitors, was also eliminated later.
