Callum Turner and Monica Barbaro Lead the Cast as Owen and Allie
Callum Turner and Monica Barbaro star as the two main characters, Owen and Allie. Turner is known for his work in Masters of the Air and the Fantastic Beasts movies. Barbaro just earned an Academy Award nomination for A Complete Unknown and also appeared in Top Gun: Maverick.
Owen is a guy who just got dumped. Allie is someone who still believes in finding something real. They are both in a slightly different version of New York City on the one night when single people are allowed to have sex. While everyone else is looking for a quick hookup, these two want more. The two actors said they became friends right away on set. Barbaro told RTÉ Entertainment that she admired Turner’s work before they started filming.

Molly Ringwald and LeVar Burton Join as Family Characters
Molly Ringwald, the famous star of 1980s classics like The Breakfast Club, plays Owen’s mother. LeVar Burton, known for Star Trek: The Next Generation and Reading Rainbow, plays her partner.
This is a nice addition to the cast. Ringwald brings her decades of experience in coming-of-age stories. Burton adds warmth and wisdom as the mother’s partner. Their roles likely provide some family moments in between all the chaos of this special night.
Maya Hawke, Julia Fox, and More Fill Out the Supporting Roles
The supporting cast includes several well-known names. Maya Hawke from Stranger Things is in the movie. So is Julia Fox, who became famous after Uncut Gems.
Ziwe, the comedian and talk show host, also appears. So does singer King Princess and Este Haim, one third of the band HAIM.

Release Dates for One Night Only in Different Countries
One Night Only will open in theaters on different dates around the world. The movie comes out in the United States on August 7, 2026. Australia gets it one day earlier on August 6, 2026. The United Kingdom release follows later on August 28, 2026. Brazil will see the film on August 27, 2026.
The movie will only be in theaters at first. Streaming release dates have not been announced yet.
The movie comes from Universal Pictures. Will Gluck co-wrote the script based on a draft by Travis Braun, whose original script made it onto the 2024 Black List of best unproduced screenplays. Gluck also produced through his company Olive Bridge Entertainment with Jacqueline Monetta.
